The case can't be opened (it only has a small twisting part to change battery ) ....the only way to open the case is to remove glass , hands and the dial and that is nearly impossible...

Changing the battery in a mickey mouse pocket watch

The first answer is a canned answer. Seen it before. Examine the edge of the pocket watch. Start at the stem and look for a slight gap where the back cover meets the case. It is usually at the stem side or hinge side. Once located take a strong sharp knife and carefully pry up the back cover. It should remove fairly easily. I have about 12 pocket watches and they all work the same way. Once open there may be a small screw or two holding the battery in place. You will need a precision screw driver set or a small screw driver for glasses.

I was just wondering how to remove the back of my watch so I could change the battery? Model AM-4065. Thanks for the help

To open the back of a Fossil Am-4065 your best bet is to use a watch case opener like this

You can also use a pair of needle nose pliers, but you then run the risk of damaging your case back. I would advise against it. I've had to deal with quite a few watches that were damaged in such a way.

The opener has an assortment of small pins. Usually you will be able to find some that will best correspond to the size of the grooves on your watch. Then the case opener can be adjusted so that the pins are securely fitted to the grooves so that you can then turn the case back off.

You will need to hold your watch securely while turning the opener, or it may slip out of the grooves and damage your case back. This is not a difficult task, you just have to go slow and carefully.

After you do so you should be able to carefully pop the battery out. Do not use a small screwdriver or other metal tool to do so. It can damage your watch. You can usually use your fingernail. After you do so you can simply read the battery number off and find a replacement. Many grocery store/drug stores and Radio Shack carry an assortment of watch batteries. You can also go to a website like Battery Bob and order the battery, but for one battery it may not be worth it.

Your watch will not have the same water resistance after you open it. Usually a watch like this will at least have it's case gasket lightly wiped with silicone grease before it's re-closed (or have the gasket/O-ring replaced and treated with grease). This should not be a problem if you don't swim or bathe with your watch on.

How to do you open the case to change the battery?

Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for the small cost saving in doing it yourself.

I just need to replace the battery, how do I open the back, does it twist off or snap off.

Some are twist or snap off..We get so many that are pressure back cover.Sometimes it can be done with a knife and there is a small hindge where you can snap it off with a knife so easy but the problem will be putting it back on because you have to snap it back on with pressure and it can only be done with a machine. If it is a twist that should be easy, all you do is put both thumbs around the lid and press and twist to the right and it should open. This lid should close tight after you put the battery or the water will get into the watch and damage the watch mechanism.

Start buttons don't work after battery change Adidas Sports Timer

You will have to open your watch, because the contacts or contact springs are not stiff enough, so, you need to make them stiffer.
Do as follows:
1) Open your watch caseback
2) Extract the movement (carefully and using tweezers), do not touch dial with fingers,
3)Take small brush and lighter fluid (ZIPPO) and clean all pushbuttons in case from inside and out pushing them rapidly, then use dust blower to dry the fluid out,
4)On the movement you will see contacts corresponding to each pushbutton on the case. Use needle or sharp metal pin to clean (scrape) off any visible residue from these contacts till they are shiny.
5)Pull all contacts on movement sligtly outwards using tweezers but be careful not to brake. This will make them stiffer.
6)Reassemble the watch and the problem should be sorted.

How to Open a Gucci watch

Most watches are either screwed on and typically have a series of small notches around the circumference of the case back. A special tool is generally called for. Otherwise they are "snap back" . These are simply pressed on. To remove you can carefully use a regular knife in the absence of a "case knife". There is usually a small gap/groove/notch area to insert the balde and lift the back off.

I have a G-Shock watch. One with Atomic and Solar recharge. They say it is water proof but after I stuck my hand in water to clean my fish aquarium everytime I twist my arm the light comes on. This causes...

Wow, you are retarded. That's a function of the G Shock watches. I don't know who would actually use the auto light function, but its there. To turn off auto light, hold down your illuminate button for 2 or 3 seconds until you hear a beep. Holding down the light button toggles between auto light on and auto light off.
