the sym scooter is shown as a oil in the sump requirement with a dipstick to check oil level
that will mean that only straight 91 octane fuel is put in the tank
go google and type in--sym 50cc motor scooter user manual -- and there is a page with a pdf version download of all the required knowledge for the scooter
the site is --www.49 ccscoot.com
Hi , in the manual l it's known as a (8) Motor volts error. I strongly suggest you check all connections , check the brushes making sure they move freely and the strings okay spray in some contact cleaner and refit, once again check all connections, what the error actually means is that the rsistance for the motor is wrong , so the above check should address the issue..
8 flash code on this scooter relates to a motor voltage fault. This means that the correct voltage is not getting to the motor from the power supply. This can either be caused by a bad harness between the power module and the motor or a problem with the motor itself. You need to measure resistance between the motor harness and intermediate motor harness this will determine which component needs to be replaced.
hi, if it using a Rhino controller 8 bleeps it means the following
The motor is not connected to the RHINO, or there is a short-circuit in the motor connection. The scooter does not drive. • The motor brushes may have lost connection. Turn the wheels of the scooter to reconnect the motor brushes, and then turn the RHINO off and on. If this happens often, the motors may be faulty. • Check that the motor cables are not loose or damaged.
I suggest you check the cable from the controller to the motor , check the actual connector block a white colour connector, then check the brushes , do they move freely within the motor, stray some contact cleaner in the there plus on the connectors and refit cable onto the controller. please keep me updated. Regards GeWiz.
Plamont unfortunately that flash code usually means a controller error. The controller is the brains of your scooter. Take the seat off and remove the rear shroud that covers the batteries and motor/gearbox assembly. Check all the wiring connectors for damage or loose connections. After checking the connectors turn the scooter on and see if you still get 8 flashes.
Did Medicare purchase the scooter? If so they will pay for most of the repair costs. You can contact your provider that sold you the scooter or a repair service Repair Xpress@ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 Hope this helps you
Hi. 8 flashes is a fault code for a motor fault. It will be either worn brushes in the motor or faulty connectors to the motor. This fault code means that there is no circuit through the motor. Probably time to overhaul the motor. Most mobility scooters have plugs and sockets that are really to small to carry the amount of current that they do. Because of this, they sometimes fail.Good luck. Neil.
hi, 8 flashes mean there is a issue with the motor according to pride, now you need to check the motor connections back to the motor controller, have you check the brushes to make sure they are not sticking inside the motor,
sometimes eight flashes can mean that the speed pot has moved slightly so it in the wrong position when you turn it on, experiment by pushing in the throttle lever and holding it there now turn on it on,
if this sort the problem , undo the throttle lever and relocate so it in the right position hwne you first turn it on.
