Is there a product that will allow me to control the system remotely (through bluetooth? wireless internet?)

Hi, my hi fi system is getting on a bit now but still produces great sound quality. However I would like to be able to control the system through my phone / tablet or just any other way remotely. Does anyone know of a product / plug in that will allow me to do this with the TECHNICS SA-AX540. Thanks.

It is unlikely that the display itself is faulty although it can happen. The typical problem is either the backlight is defective or the suply to the unit has a bad connection. If you can solder, try resoldering the pins on the display itself. The pins on the ends are the power and ground. I don't recall whether or not your model has a separate back light bulb or not. That too could be burned. Chack for that too.

Keep us posted,
Dan

Heat?

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Check for loose speaker connections as a root cause for intermittent shutdown.

Can a desktop with wondows 10 get internet access with a bluetooth phone

If your smart phone has Wi-Fi tethering capability, and your plan allows for significant data, you can connect a laptop to it, OR a desktop with a simple USB Wi-Fi adapter.

Bluetooth is not part of the requirements to do this.

I would like to know when it say laptop with built in wireless. Does that mine i already got internet service on it. Or i have to buy USB modem.

Hello Blac,

All the laptops available in market have built in wireless 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 b/g/n Bluetooth® wireless networking. It means that you can access the internet via Wi-Fi or through Wi-Fi hotspots. In wireless connectivity you do not require the wired connection to access the internet. In home you can connect the laptop via wireless connection using the home networking router available in market. The advantage of wireless connection is that you can use the internet in your home anywhere with in 100 meters of range with proper wireless signals. You will require to get the internet connection from the ISP(Internet Service Provider).

In order to set wireless printer in Windows 7-based PC, you need to position it in a central location away from metal objects. Now, find out if it a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi as most new printers are equipped with either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi technologies. After, that enables the sharing of your printers by informing computer’s operating system about adding printer to its network. Also, install drivers for the same. Hence, in this way you can set up wireless printer on Windows 7-based system. You can also set up other computer systems in the network for using wireless printer get more information for Set Up Wireless Printer on Windows 7 .

Hi there... Iogear Bluetooth micro adapter 2.1 for USB port, software installed... After inserting the adapter, laptop freezes.

What is the operating system of your computer? Can you tell me the exact model number of your Bluetooth Adapter (it usually starts with GBU)?

Check the link below, and see the system requirements:

http://www.iogear.com/product/GBU421/

You need to check also the system type of your computer (32 or 64-bit OS). Some IOGEAR devices could only support 32-bit OS. If you are running 64-bit OS, that could cause the problem.

Try to uninstall the Bluetooth driver. Reboot the computer, then reload the installation disk that came with it. Once the hardware wizard ask you to plug the device it, just continue the installation, BUT DO NOT plug the device.

After the installation is done, reboot the computer again, the PLUG the device in WHILE the computer is shutting down. Once the computer comes back up, then it should install the other necessary driver. And that should work.

Good luck!

Soundcast act 211 wireless audio system wireless interference w/airport

I'm not familiar with this product but my guess would be that the wireless signal from the audio transmitter is either overriding the wireless in your room.

You might want to consider going to a bluetooth system. It's range is only 30 ft and it doesn't impact wi-fi equipment.
