Well... you need to remember your Netflix account name and password. Go to the App Store, type in Netflix and tap on the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the App store. Tell the App store you want to install the NetFlix app. Once the NetFlix app is installed, tap the open button in the App store, or tap the Netflix app on your iPad screen. When NetFlix starts, it will prompt you for your username and password. Once you give it the correct information, then you should be able to see all the settings that are available when you use your TV.

Attempt relocating your tablet to a good WIFI location and sign on. If unsuccessful attempt a friends ID and PW. Attempt to isolate the problem.

I have a similar challenge. Netflix works fine on my iPad mini and Samsung smart TV. The trouble is on the Apple TV .
I think I restarted the Apple TV to set this right.
Try going to settings -general -reset on the iPad 2 and see if there is a possibility there.

4. Press the Install button (Install). You must enter your password to iTunes to install the app.
5. When the app is installed, tap the Netflix icon.
6.Indtast e-mail address and password for your Netflix account, and then tap Sign in (Sign In).

Netflix for iPad ios 5.1.1
Unfortunately, Netflix only makes an iPad app for iOS 6 and later. You will have to get a newer iPad if you really, really want to watch Netflix on it, because your iPad cannot be upgraded to iOS 6.
