I know I need to call voicemail, press #6* plus 999 then password, but I do not have the password. How do I reset this main admin password? We have old information on our greeting message that needs to be changed.

Know that these are two separate things. The "on-hold" audio comes from the equipment plugged into the MOH port of the phone system cabinet. I use Message Studio 3.0 and a talent from Fort Wayne to do my voice overs. We send him a script and he records the voices and we use a couple of sources for royalty-free and paid music.
The voice mail probably comes from a TVA box, about the size of a cigar box (do they still make them?) and colored the same as a TDA system (black & dark blue). The message manager makes those changes from mailbox 998 or from the maintenance console (you can import greetings from your MP3 files). An individual user customized his own greeting by logging into the box and choosing option 3(??) or 5. It's where you record your name, greetings, and set your password.
While the TVA is not a dealer only product, your Panasonic dealer can help you solve and should have explained what you're asking. Most of my customers don't want to know about greetings and names, but they still call me and ask when they have a problem. I rarely charge them.

O.K. Here's your solution, but it's only available to you until next Monday. Go here http://public.carl.airpost.net/ and get both TDA EXT PIN files. One is the extension users guide and the other is the admin sequence to reset it. Please comment and/or rate this solution so I know you have it and I can take it down earlier.
This is one of the codes that can't be posted in a public forum.

The "manual" is the System installation guide for your particular brand of voice mail system. If the TDA system is recent, it will be a TVA-50 or TVA-200. Look in the section under Message Manager. The recordings are either Company greetings or Custom Service menus. The person who installed the system can set it up in a number of different ways, but there is a USB port and maintenance software that runs on a windows box that lets you see visually how the system is set up. You don't need it to make voice changes, but if you don't have a clue where to look for the greetings, it would be really advisable to get the software or have someone come in and show you how it works.

SOURCE: Hi, I need help on
TVA and TVS systems have master passwords that the installer has. If you lost the password to 999, then your installer can probably come out and reset them. If you have lost the master password, Panasonic can restore that, but it's not easy.
If you happen to have the password for 998 and 999, you get there by pressing #6 *99x at the login. Put in your password and IIRC admin is option 5 or 6 in 999.

the general mailbox can be any mailbox from 100-998... or if you have 4 digit extension numbers, 1000-9998...or it can be one of a couple hundred other greetings if you are talking about custom service menus instead of a mailbox (all this is best determined by your local panasonic dealer/serviceman)
once you know which mailbox is your general mailbox:
1) call the voicemail
2) press "#6*" + the mailbox number
3) enter password then "#"
4) press options "3" then "1" then "1"
5) record your greeting then press "1" to stop the recording then "2" to save it
6) hang up
