To replace this part you will have to open the jura machine. I found this information out because I had the dreaded error 8 reading on my jura machine which stopped it from making coffee. To disassemble the jura coffee machine you'll need some special tools that I will talk about as I describe how to get to the sensor, make sure you get those tools or something similar.
The problem that you are having is the boiler is not heating properly (heating the water properly), so the taste of espresso will not be good. You need a high heating temperature to get good tasting espresso. This generally happens because the thermo sensor went bad and the electronic board is not sensing the proper heat because the thermo sensor went out.
1. Remove the drip tray
2. Remove the water tank
3. Remove the coffee cover and bean hopper cover (aroma cover)
4. Remove the cover for the pre-ground coffee shut
5. Now you will need to remove the cup warning plate that is stainless steel, it is fastened with 2 security screws. You'll need a Newelectronx t15 torx security screwdriver to take them out.
6. Now remove the top plate, there will be 5 screws fastening it down. Again use the Newelectronx t15 torx screwdriver to take them out. Pull it up to release.
7. On the rear end of the machine, you'll need to remove some weird oval head screws. The only place I could find the tool for this oval head screw was in the Newelectronx Coffee Tool Kit Set. Get the oval tool, which is different from the Newelectronx t15 torx bit and remove the next few screws. There are 2 screws - oval head, on the lower backside. Take off the rear back panel. On the left you'll find the mechanical parts.
8. On the boiler, which is the big metal part that is formed like an upside down tear drop. The thermo sensor is attached to the boiler with a screw - again use the Newelectronx security screwdriver to remove the security screw.
9. The thermo sensor connects to the electronic board. Detach the wire from the electronic board. Now the thermo sensor is off.
10. Replace the thermo sensor with a new jura thermo sensor that has the same wire colors. If the wire color is wrong the contact thermo sensor might not perform as it should.
11. Now put the machine back together. Good luck

Why won't my Franke flair machine won't run only says please wait.is there a reset switch ?

there is no reset switch, please wait on the display indicates the machine is heating . but the sensors are not registering the temp. this means either the thermoblock/s have failed (unlikely) there are upto 4 thermal fuses mounted on the thermoblocks . this is more likely the problem. any more info required please et me know

My krups dolce gusto stopped working. The lights turn on but nothing happens, no water comes out. I have tried every suggestion there is but nothing has happened..I'm afraid I'll waste money on...

Hi, Could be a number of things. Is your pump working. Thermoblock maybe blocked or faulty. A thermo sensor on the thermoblock maybe faulty. Brewunit maybe jammed. Descale will not help if it wont pump. Id be looking at the thermoblock or sensor. If their at fault then the machine will do nothing. See how you go and ill keep a look out for any more questions you may have. Dazza Repairer

My expresso machine won't steam. Just suddenly stopped. Have tried running vinegar through system, but still won't run through steamer.

Hi, I dont know which brand machine you have, but I should be able to work out what is wrong. If your machine has a press button or turn knob steam tap, then it could be the solenoid which opens the steam flow. The solenoid itself maybe stuck or the coil maybe faulty. You just need to work back from the steam arm to work out which solenoid it is. It should make a clicking sound when activated. Commercial machine solenoids canbe disassembled and cleaned. If its a domestic machine, then just replace the solenoid. Also, some machines have a micro switch that activates the steam valve. If its faulty, then replace it.
If its a domestic machine you have, then another thing that maybe at fault, and that is the thermoblock (small boiler). If it doesn't heat up then no steam canbe made. The thermoblock has an element inside, and they can not be replaced. You have to replace the whole thermoblock. It can be easily checked with a multi meter to see if the circuit is broken. On some thermoblocks, is a thermostat or overload sensor. It is also easily checked with a meter.
So lets break it down a) solenid
b) micro switch
c) Thermoblock
d) thermostat/ thermol overload
Hope this has help you. Id be looking towards the thermoblock. Dazza

How do I fix a 'storing 4' (error 4 in Dutch) myself on my Jura Impressa s9 machine (7 years old)? Is there a clever way of taking the back panel off to access the internals without breaking anything ?

error 4 is the ntc sensor on the top thermoblock
change it and the machine will be fine
to check just measure the resistance of the sensor , it should be 12Kohms with room temperature.... the warmer it gets the less resistance
a other quick way to check it is changing it with a resistor of around 330 ohms
the machine will work properly only it thinks the temperature is good while it may not be warm enough yet

to reset the error press the 2 middle buttons for a few seconds while in standby mode

Espresso maker is on, but not ready to brew espressos

Leonardo,

I think that the sequence is to pump just a few second to make sure there is water in the thermoblock followed by applying power to the thermoblock to achieve the required water termperature. You could have a number of problems. A) Your flow meter (right after the water tank with 3 wire connections) is faulty and the unit does not sense any water; B) You have a faulty connection to the thermoblock and is not getting hot; or C) The temperature sensor in the thermoblock is not working and the unit never get the ready signal. However I will focus on the water flow issue. The unit usually only pumps of 1-2 sec.

Error Code 9 on a Krups XP7240 Expresso machine

After I changed piston sealing I get the same error 09. It was caused by missing connection to the thermoblock temperature sensor. In my case both connectors for thermocouple were cracked. They are located directly on the body of thermoblock, below two fuses, covered by rubber housing. After I solder them again on the position error 09 disappeared. Unfortunately it is necessary to open at least front panel of the machine. Moreover I tink that there is also important to save polarity of those two cables.
