Re: need to know the model so i can order a new charger
It's manufactured by Acer. Look at the base of the laptop or charger and see the power consumption. Most laptops will require a 65W charger at 3.42A at 19V.

I had the same problem but with another item I needed, and when I called and asked they told me to only use the first part of the sn (basically use the sn you have but when it fills the allowable space simply stop at that point, they tell me the last part of the sn is not needed to order parts and disks, only for ordering exact replacements that is unique to a exact model. Simply start at the beginning of your sn and when you cannot put any more of it in, stop and use only what you have entered.
There are a couple of ways to do this. First, there should be a product and/or serial number on the charger itself. You could google these numbers. Also, sometimes, when you remove the battery there is more info about the laptop. Maybe the label where the serial number is unreadable has a readable produst number example (p/n). Lastly, often the replacements from the manufacture are expensive. You can get a universal charger at someplace like Best Buy for around $60.00. One more possibility. When you turn on your computer, it may have some information about the computer on the screen before it boots to windows. You may be able to go into setup and se the model of the motherboard which could help in your search.
I think the DVD Player was made for Target, you might be able to go there and find one and get the info off the power supply (charger) and take the unit and the info to Radio Shack for a replacement. If they can not help try calling MCM Electronics at 1-800-543-4330
