Do you mean it plays some music or video but can't play other music or videos? If my understanding is right, you'd better check whether the card works on another phone. If it works, you can try installing a third-party player to your S5.

I have read on some Android forums that if you install Kit Kat version 4.4.3 then it won't let you roll back to version 4.4.2.

But, they are talking Motorola and I don't know if this holds true for Samsung devices.

On my Galaxy, I stopped at 4.4.2 and it appears to have been a smart decision. One thing, I used Samsung Kies3 to download and install 4.4.2 and it has the option to roll back to the previous firmware. I guess it keeps a copy on the hard drive??? Samsung Kies 3 is a free Windows program for interfacing with the Galaxy. I have it installed on Windows 8.1 and it works great. Mostly I use it to transfer files, such as music, photos and videos to the external 64 gig SD card. But, it does do firmware updates, too. It does them trouble free so I recommend it highly. The only thing I can recommend is keep checking the android forums to see if anybody knows how to roll back from 4.4.3. There must be a way.
