My gut instict is to say that you may have a faulty presser foot position sensor. If this goes bad, even if the presser foot is raised, the machine thinks that it is down, no matter what. There are few other issues that could cause this problem, but they are all tied to faulty electronic components. I would earnestly suggest taking your machine in to a Janome dealer or another reputable sewing machine repair shop.

Error message #2

Perhaps this error list will help you resolve the problem:

Try lowering the pressure foot and the needle and then raise them
again and then restart the machine, and if that doesn't clear the
error message then it's time to service the machine.

How do I fix the following problem with my Janome MC9000 sewing machine?

Unfortunately you are probably not going to be able to fix this.
It needs a sensor adjusted (probably), or a component replaced.

Hyundai 8 stitch sewing machine confused beginner!?????

Not familiar with your machine, but an important suggestion for all sewing machines:

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread. If you did not do this, remove the top thread completely from the machine and start over by RAISING the presser foot and following the thread path. (Do NOT miss any thread guides or thread any out of order!)

Lower the presser foot and thread the needle. (The top thread will pull through the needle ONLY if the presser foot is raised!) RAISE the presser foot and pull at least 5 inches of thread through the needle. Insert your fabric. Lower the presser foot. Hold the thread tail gently in your left hand and with the right hand manually turn the handwheel one rotation. The needle should pull the bobbin thread up through the fabric.

While still holding the top thread tail, "sweep" under the presser foot with a stiletto, scissors, a nail file (anything that will fit under the presser foot) to pull the remaining bobbin thread tail above the fabric. Grab both thread tails and pull them under the presser foot toward the back of the machine. Now, you are ready to take your first stitch.

You can gently hold those thread tails while you slowly power the machine to take the first couple of stitches on your fabric.

Threading a needle

1. Turn handwheel toward you 2. Raise presser foot up 3. Pull thread from spool and pull taut under each tension disk. It's important to "feel" the "click" if you are new to threading machine 4.Make sure after all tension disks threaded that you put thread behind the slot in back of your needle. It's a little groove to hold thread securely. 5. Pull thread toward you 6. Thread needle eye front to back 7. Pick up thread under gently pull taut in front of you 8. Lower presser foot and turn handwheel toward you. A loop will form under the needle where needle thread has picked up the bobbin thread. Carefully take both threads that have made a single loop and pull toward you 9. Put threads under presser foot just lift put threads under and pull 5 -6 inches thread BACK and UNDER that presser foot Done! Hope this helps, my friend! Jimmy

How do I turn corners with the overlock foot for a Janome 2049?

Sew to the end of the fabric, slowing right down to within a stitch or two of the end, manually turn wheel to complete last two stitches, stop, raise needle, raise presser foot, turn fabric so the back edge of the fabric is just under the needle, drop needle, drop presser foot and resume.

My brother CE 4000 sewing machine freezes. After some tinkering I can sew a little then in happens again. It makes a shuddering noise then freezes and shows an E6 error message?

Turn off the power and remove the needle and presser foot.

Remove the needle plate, bobbin and bobbin case.

Clean the shuttle and surrounding area.

Replace everything.

Make sure the flat side of the needle faces to the back of the machine.

Raise the presser foot and re-thread the machine.

Janome 9000 willl not work when turned on

My Janome 9000 has always done that. I can prevent it by raising the needle when I first start the machine, getting it to sew quickly or raising the needle and letting the machine sit for a few minutes. I think my computer wants to warm up a minute. As you can see I.m not a technical person but it works for me.
