Hello These are the tips you should follow. This is my solution regards about my laptop problem.
You replaced the broken LCD screen in your laptop with a new screen but it’s not working. Does this sound like your problem? Let’s find out what could be wrong and how you can fix it. First of all, I assume that your new LCD screen is compatible withthe old one. Different screens require different video cables. Makesure you new screen is compatible with your laptop. OK, let’s say you accidentally damaged the LCD screen in yourlaptop. A part of the screen still works fine but you cannot use itlike that so you decided to replace the screen yourself. You did some research and purchased a compatible screen, installedit into the laptop, turned it on and… The new screen is not working!!!What could be wrong?
Before you start to panic, check all cable connections again. Checkconnection between the video cable, LCD screen and inverter board.Reconnect cables just in case. Take a closer look at the connection between the video cable and LCDscreen. It’s possible you accidentally pulled the video cable from theconnector during the screen installation.need to remove lcd - screen-not-working-4.jpg/images/screen-not-working-4.jpg" alt="screen-not-working-4.jpg" class="h_mi" />The video cable has to be seated properneed to remove lcd - screen-not-working-5.jpg />Also, on some older LCD screens there are very thin pins inside theconnector. Take a look inside the connector, make sure there are nodamaged (bent) pins. You can straighten bent pins with a very small screwdriver but this procedure requires a lot of patience and concentration. Fortunately, most newer LCDs have a different type oneed to remove lcd - screen-not-working-6.jpggile pins inside. OK, you have reseated all connectors and cannot see anything wrong but the new screen still is not working. What’s next? Remove the new screen and connect the old one. If the old one worksproperly (except the damaged area) but the new one is dead, apparentlythe new screen is defective and has to be replaced. Hopefully it has warranty. Here’s another scenario. The new screen kinda works. You can see a very faint image but there is no backlight. If that’s the case, disconnect the new screen from the inverterboard and plug in the old screen instead, as it shown on the picturebelow. If the backlight inside the old screen lights up, apparently theneed to remove lcd - screen-not-working-7.jpg backlight lamp and has to be replaced.

Just type your computer make and model in the search followed by lcd hinges.
If the hinges are broken where the lcd screen connects to the base of the laptop then you will have to remove the screws from the bottom of the laptop and remove the strip that is at the top of the keyboard to get to them.
If the hinges on the side of the lcd frame is broken then you will have to remove the plastic strip that is around the lcd screen. Remove the plastic or rubber bumpers on the plastic strip then you will see screws to remove to remove the plastic strip. Then you will see hinges and screws on the side of the lcd screen that you can remove. Once you have them removed you can lean the lcd lid forward so that it drops in your hand. Don't let it drop on the keyboard, just into your hand and not too far because there is a cable on the back of the lcd that you don't want to damage. The cable can be taken loose from from the lcd at the back near the top if you like. Sometimes there might be a piece of tape securing it. If the lcd screen does not come out then there are screws on the 4 corners that is securing it and the hinges.
Check ebay they always have stuff like that. Just type in your make and model and put the words hinges or lcd and hinges behind it. Sounds like you just need the hinges though. This is pretty easy to fix yourself. If you have questions on putting them on just ask. Hope this helps.
There is no need to remove the bottom case.
There are screws on the back edge that fixes the LCD hinges to the base of the laptop.
Remove the plastic panel on the laptop between the LCD and the Fn keys/LED lights/push buttons. You most likely need to fold the LCD flat to remove this panel. This panel is cliped in place, take care to unclip it, start at one end and work along to release it.
There may be further screws that fix the hinge to the base. Also there are cables that connect the LCD to th motherboard, be careful to remove the cables before you remove the LCD.
if you would have sent it to me first I would have replaced the case for you and you wouldn't have had these problems, but I can still help you out. I have a white nintendo DS lite in stock that I had to replace the bottom lcd display in. I will ship to you for $90 and if you are feeling adventurous send me your parts and I will take off $10 since I have no clue what is broken and what is not, but to me it sounds like the bottom lcd, touch screen , and circuit board are trash. Thanks Josh Boyer [email protected]
I can give you some general advice. I haven't worked on your particular model, but I can help guide toward what you want to do. To remove the LCD screen, you have two main goals: 1) disconnect the signal cable and 2) remove the LCD screen at the hinges. Depending on the model, you will need to remove the cover between the keyboard and the hinges, the hinge covers, and perhaps the keyboard too. The ribbon cable that connects to the LCD matrix is under that cover between the keyboard and the hinges. The cover also covers up the screws for the hinges. Get to that LCD and unplug it first; then remove the screws for the hinges. The voltage inverter that jacks the +18 volts up to +600 volts for the screen backlight is usually either under the cover above the keyboard or behind the bezel beneath the screen. Good luck!
Hello Wendy names Nick and just done hinge work on the Presario V5000z and readin up on your problem my suggestion would be lookin on ebay or various sites for the hinge then go about replacing it.
Steps involved in replacing the hinge start with removing power and battery
Next come the more difficult step, removing all the screws fron the bottom of the unit (this is done to gain access to the wireless cables which run from the wifi card to the lcd display)
once the base is removed then you carefully use a flat head screw driver an near the top row of keys (while pressing a few of them down) you will see a few notches which you can pry off the top cover giving you access to the lcd screen connector and bracket anchoring screws.
hopefully you disconnected your wireless antenna leads by now, and also disconnected the lcd cable from the board.
now you have the lcd display free from the base, now to change the hinge.
under the lil rubber circle pads are screws holding the brazel to the front of the lcd, this should be removed to get access to the lcd itself and thus the hinge brackets.
remove replace carefully i might add. then do everything in reverse to get the system reassembled and there ya have it
hinge has been replaced
P.S. careful steps should always be taken to prevent shock damage to any computer system when working on internals, also mind bending and pincing cables since they can most times be easilly damaged
Either buy the entire screen portion off Ebay which would only require you to remove the swivel portion and screen or just the LCD (which would be cheaper but a bit more work to replace, albeit simple). With a small screwdriver, remove the LCD from the phone by unscrewing the back of the screen and replacing LCD. You may still need to remove the entire screen from the base and as the swivel portion is on a coil, be mindful that it doesn't swivel after removal. I usually leave one of the screws in place to keep the screen from swiveling, otherwise, if it uncoils just wind the swivel portion to a moderate tightness and then reattach it to the unit after replacing the LCD.
Remove batteries and memcard.
Remove 8 screws, the screws on the bottom are smaller than the side screws.
Rear cover will slide off, watch out for loose LCD screen.
Two protruding slots on the bottom hold the battery cover hinges.
Hold battery cover wide open and at an angle to snap hinges into place.
Reinstall rear cover and screws.
