Hi just updated my firefox and the new version doesnt appear to have inherited an add on that i downloaded onto my previous firefox which blocks email ads appearing in my free rocketmail account inbox. is that download/add on still available

Perform the following tasks:

- Update Browsers
- Update Flash player
- Update Java
- Clear History and Cookies

- Fix registry errors

For an instant fix use system utility tool Reginout.

At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.... Firefox will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog. For Windows XP, click the Help menu and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled....

uninstall it from the control panel and download it again

Get the Fire fox update.

Unfortunately there is no add-on to just install, but here is a solution which is pretty close:
1. Find the folder storing the .ini files for your Opera browser. On Windows this folder is usually C:\Program Files\Opera\defaults. Depending on your OS just locate your Opera main folder and navigate to defaults.
2. Save the urifilter.ini file from this address: http://www.technobeta.com/download/urlfilter.ini in the folder
This is all! Opera will now block the main ads present on the Internet.
! the defaults folder gets overwritten at each update, so make sure you repeat the process when you install a new Opera version
!! The urifilter.ini file at http://www.technobeta.com/download/urlfilter.ini gets updated quite often so you might want to repeat the process from time to time to make sure you keep all those annoying ads away ---------- This is the best solution which Opera can offer, though it's not by far as efficient as the most common Firefox addons..

try using flock, It is also powered by mozilla but faster than firefox. you can download it at www.flock.com
there are only few add ons/plug ins but it sure does work faster and less or no crashes at all.

U must disable some stupid add-ons. Simply click :

1. START
2. all programs
3. Mozilla Firefox --> Mozilla Firefox Safe Mode
4. In the window that appears check DISABLE ALL ADD ONS and then hit the RESTART MOZILLA button

Worked for me after 2 long weeks without mozilla :)
