Jensen MVB85 A8.5 dvd player

I purchased a jensen MVB85 A 8.5 dvd player a little over a year ago. Last month the dvd player started to display the message "incorrect region code." I have tried several dvd's, even the ones that use to work on it but no luck. It has power, but no video or audio. The manufac wants to charge 195.00 for repair but I am not sure it is worth it. Has anyone ever heard of this error message? I know what it means, but not sure how to fix it.Thanks

Problem: All DVDs would not play in Jensen MVB85A overhead 8.5 DVD player. Error code: "Incorrect Region Code"

FIX:

1. Use the remote to power on DVD player
2. Ensure there are NO DVDs in the drive
3. When you see the DVD logo screen, press 9653 on the remote
4. A hidden menu will open stating the region code. My region code was set to 0 and my I was receiving the error.
5. Press the "OK" button to change the Region Code to "1".

Once the region code was set to 1 all DVDs were playing.

Key words: Jensen Audiovox MVB85 incorrect region code

My Jensen MVB85A DVD screen will display the movie for a few moments & then the screen becomes almost completely black but if I push & release the small pin that turns the screen off when it's closed, the screen will come back on for a few more seconds, then go away again. What is my problem & how do I fix it???

Hello! We have the same player and had this problem also. However, I went onto the menu with the remote and was able to get it to play and function properly again. I am not sure exactly what I pushed but it is very simple and didn't take more than a minute or two-must be just a basic on the menu. Hope this helps!

DVD will not Eject

answer - had the same issue turned out to be 3 dvds in it, Remove the 4 screws holding the dvd player to the roof. wire harness will hold it up. There is an fm transmitter on top held on by three screws. remove the little screws and push the transmitter to the side. you winn now see the stuck dvds. push the extras out with a small screw driver. once they are out the eject button will eject the last dvd.
just worked for me hope this helps.

FMM Off

A quick fix is to buy a fm transmitter at Wal-Mart. I bought a berklin couple years ago. I plug it in the headphone jack side of the player and WOOHOO I got sound.

A broken screen

I just pulled a nearly new one out of our Expedition prior to trading it in. I have the unit only with remote. No mounting braket and I kept the headphones for our new vehicle. Will consider all reasonable offers.
