I have lost power to the 240v hook up circuit, the fridge still works on the hook up voltage but the 3 pin sockets have failed,i have 240v coming in to the the van as the fridge and hot water heater are ok,test at a junction box under the seat and the voltage is ok there,is the a internal fuse our mcb somewhere?

I believe it's more likely they are Circut breakers, which if they used conventional breakers, there should be a fairly big box I would think near the incoming supply. As well as the other supply. By three pin you don't mean 220vac do you? Standard socket for 110 and ground. So they could be smaller breakers. but I still would think the box to be near the incoming feed. This tool will work on any wire. It might help if you don't find an answer other wise. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40...

Sorry, I don't understand. As I understand it, everything works, except three pin socket (220 vac) socket for another appliance like a 220vac window air conditioner for example? Do you have a volt meter that says it failed? Usually. the middle pin is neutral.
so that voltage between it and either of the other two is 110vac.
The outer two should show 220vac.

Testimonial: "Sorry, its a Fleetwood Colchaster 1300/2 touring caravan think approx 1990,the electric hook up that plugs into the van for thr 240vac circuit is fine running into the caravan, the fridge is still working and so is the 240v heater for the hot water tank but there is only two three pin sockets in the caravan and there is no power going to them, think we have overloaded due to a electric blower and running a domestic kettle plus a tv ....wondered if there was a fuse it might have taken out on the 240v circuit inside the van for the sockets as i have no wiring diagram for the caravan,i have a fluke meter and i have 240 volt to a junction box under the seat but nothing at the sockets, just thought someone may have had this problem without me having to trace all the wiring from the sockets backwards ie a fuse i dont know about or a mcb which is unlikely due to the age of the caravan cheers Steve"

05 Explorer all of the windows stopped working at the same time and the radio also I checked all of the fuses and all of them are good Thanks in Advance if you are able to help me with this problem.

Bad relay more then likely .
Power Window Operation
The power window system operates under the control of the accessory delay relay. The instrument cluster module (ICM) grounds the relay coil to provide power to the power window system & the radio .

Symptom Chart Condition Possible Sources Action
  • All power windows are inoperative
  • Fuse(s).
  • Circuitry.
  • Instrument cluster module (ICM).
  • Accessory delay relay.
  • Driver window control switch.
  • Go To Pinpoint Test A .

The first step to diagnose this problem would be to hook up a factory scan tool an check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in the ICM . If no codes do pin point test A
Pinpoint Test A: All Power Windows Are Inoperative
Normal Operation Under normal operation the instrument cluster module grounds the accessory delay relay through circuit 1004 (LB/RD). Power is sent to the driver window control switch through circuit 400 (LB/BK) from the accessory delay relay. The driver window control switch is grounded through circuit 1205 (BK).
    Possible Causes
  • Fuse(s)
  • Open in circuits 400 (LB/BK), 1205 (BK) or 1004 (LB/RD)
  • Damaged accessory delay relay

Fault Code 12

Air Bag Deployment Circuit Drop in Battery Voltage

Circuit Description

Normal Operation

The diagnostic monitor measures the voltage at pin 13 of the diagnostic monitor connector. Voltage at pin 13 should be equal to battery voltage. If the voltage measured at pin 13 drops to less than 9 volts, the diagnostic monitor will flash out code 12.

Possible Causes

A drop in battery voltage at diagnostic monitor pin 13 can be caused by:

1.An open circuit that would prevent battery voltage from reaching diagnostic monitor pin 13.

NOTE:
If the instrument panel fuse and/or the power distribution fuse are blown, be sure to diagnose the system for possible causes 2 and 3 below.

2.A short to ground in Circuit 611 (W/O) or 612 (P/O) may result in a blown instrument panel fuse and/or power distribution fuse.

3.An internal short to ground within the safing sensor may result in a blown instrument panel fuse and/or power distribution fuse.

4.A problem in the charging system causing battery voltage to drop below 9 volts.

2006 Jeep Commander Tail light

The tail light circuit is separate from the brake and turn signal circuit. Either the bulb socket has gone bad or a wire has flaked out. Check for voltage at the socket on either pin base when you have your parking lights on. If voltage is present, it is either a worn socket failing to hold the bulb properly, or another bad bulb. If no voltage, determine which wire on the other side is tail light power, and run a new wire across to the side that isn't working and connect it to provide power.

2000 Nissan Frontier Cigarette lighter not working while I use tire compresser using,

Tire compressor probably draws too much current for the socket. Are you sure it is a cigarette lighter socket? Some sockets are just to provide accessories 12v. Did a cigarette lighter come with this socket? True cigarette lighter sockets are generally fused at 25 or 30 Amps

I have C280 Mercedes Benz. The car starts, but the engine dies after about 20 minutes.

Symptoms look like thermal instability of either the cam shaft position sensor or the crankshaft position sensor. Sometimes these sensors can fail by outputting reduced voltage with temperature increase so they appear to works fine at start up but fail when the engine reaches running temperature. I think the the cam sensor is Hall effect and the cam sensor magnetic:

2 pin socket (magnetic - sine wave output). One pin is 'ground' the other is 'signal'. A voltmeter set to 2 volts AC (note) should measure a signal in the 0.2 to 2 volts range on the 'signal' pin.

3 pin socket (Hall effect, magneto - square wave form output). One pin is 'reference' (5volts), one pin is 'ground' and the third pin is 'signal'. A DC (note) voltage should be detectable in the 0.5 to 1.5 volt range from the 'signal' pin.
It is important that the voltage measurement take place at start up when the engine is cold and again, 20 minutes later, when the engine has fully warmed up to operating temperature. These devices do not often fail and are expensive if purchased from the the Mercedes dealership, shop around on-line or try a breakers yard.

Q7 12V socket Inverter Wattage Question

no you need to know the wattage of the item you are trying to power. To find the wattage of the item you are trying to power is simple. Some will say directly others will give you the amps (ie. .5amps, 1.2 amps.) you take the amps and multiply it by the volts that it says. All this info is on the item you are trying to power with the inverter. The answer is what it will take to power that item. example .5amps x 240v = 120 w so in this instance you would need an inverter that would produce at least 120w so in this case the 150w inverter would work. Good Luck, have a grt day
