The Error Code SC542 or Sc546 could be a caused by a few reasons. There is a temperature problem with the fuser unit, the roller thermistor is bad, or the BCU Board is bad.
1 metode to reset Ricoh Error code sc542:
To clear the code:
Hit the yellow "Clear Modes" key
Press 107 on the number pad
Press and hold the "Clear Stop" for 10 seconds until you get a new screen ...
Press the "Copy SP" Button on the display
Open the front door
Turn front left power switch off and on
Shut the door
The error code is now cleared.
reset Ricoh Error code sc542:
To Enter and Exit the SP Mode
1. Press yellow "Clear Modes" key .
2. On the operation panel keypad, press 107 number
3. Hold down red "Clear" key more than 10 seconds.
The Copy SP is displayed.
4. Press "Copy SP" and go to the code SP5810, press "Execute"
5. To exit the SP mode, just press Exit in the upper right corner of the SP mode
screen. Power switch off and on and the error code is now cleared.

change the fusing unit completely and put on the machine.
if the error appears again, enter the sp mode by
1,press the yellow key say three times and enter keys 107
2,press and hold the stop/clear key for say 5 seconds .the machine will take you into the sp mode.
3,put of the machine for about aminute and put it on again .
I believe when you follow this step well ,thie problem will be solved

Hello!

Follow the next steps carefully and the error code SC546 will disappear.
Press the following keys by this order:

1. press the (yellow key) [Clear]
2. press then the numbers on the numbers key by order (1)-(0)-(7)
3. press the red key (cancel) [C] and hold it pressed for about 5 seconds.
4. on the screen will appear another menu different from the one
you are familiarized it will write up in the left corner [service menu],
(if the service menu do not appear repeat the procedure again).
After this menu will appear turn off the machine from the red switch which is located somewhere in the middle of the machine and just by the left corner (the turn off switch-plug) wait for 10 seconds and turn back on the machine by the same switch-plug.

After this the error code SC546 should be disappear.

Try to go into service mode to reset the code...

then press and hold the red stop botton till the display changes and then turn the main Power switch Off then back ON... You do not have to do any thing in service mode, just get to that display.... Don't change anything unless you know what you are doing. sc546 has to do with the fixing unit. You may be able to reset it.
