Follow these steps to clean the print head from the printer's control panel: 1. Make sure the printer is turned on but not printing, and the red b error light is off. If the red light is flashing or on, you may need to replace the ink cartridge. 2. Press the down button to highlight More Options, then press OK. 3. Use the up or down button to highlight Head Cleaning, then press OK. 4. To begin cleaning, press OK. While cleaning, the printer makes noise and you see a progress bar on the control panel display. Cleaning takes about 30 seconds. Caution: Do not turn off the printer or interrupt the cleaning process. 5. When the cleaning is done, run a nozzle check to confirm the print head nozzles are clean. Make sure letter-size plain paper is loaded in the printer, then press Stop. The nozzle check pattern prints. 6. If the pattern has gaps or missing dots, press Stop to clean the print head again. If the nozzle check pattern looks correct, press OK to finish.
Note: Run nozzle check at least three consecutive times. If you do not see any improvement and you have replaced the ink cartridges, your product may require service.
Your cartridge nozzle may need to be cleaned. You can use the Lexmark Solution Center to clean the nozzles from dirts and clogs. You may refer to this article: How to
Unblock (Clean) the Cartridge Nozzles.
You should try cleaning your cartridge nozzles. If you're using Windows, go to Start -> Programs -> Lexmark X6100 Series -> Lexmark Solution Center -> Maintenance tab -> Clean to fix horizontal streaks. The printer will then print a test page. You can also manually clean the cartridge nozzles. Follow the steps in this article : How to Clean the Print Cartridge Nozzles and Contacts Manually. Thanks.
Hi Good day!!! if you try the head cleaning for 1 dozen of time and nothing has change, try this one method I'll give you, before you buy a new printer. all you need to have is a cleaning solution kit and a syringe. 1. remove the cartridge to expose the nozzle that feed the head 2. fill syringe with 2ml of your cleaning solution. 3. push end of tube over the nozzle that takes ink from the cartridge. 4.gently push the syringe allowing 1ml of cleaning solution to pass down the tube and into the head 5. leave the syringe in this position for couple of hours to allow the fluid to soak the dried ink particles. 6. after a couple of hours gentle push the rest of the fluid through the end 7. the next few prints may be contaminated with cleaning fluid and you are advised before carrying out any prints to do a full head clean using printer utility. 8. if after step 8 you still have a problem you can repeat the operation up to step 6, but instead of pushing the fluid through the head draw the fluid back into the syringe, and then back to the head, this causes fluid to move backward and forward in the head assembly, you should notice air bubbles and very small dried ink particles whist doing this. Please note while this product will remove stubborn dried ink particles it will not damage print head.
It seems to me, if you have changed your colour cartridge that is, that you do not have enough black ink in your black ink cartridge, so you should change this also.
Assuming that you are using original Canon cartridges or a brand of Compatibles that you have used before.
If print results are blurred, colors are faded or not printed correctly, the pint head nozzles are probably clogged. Follow the procedure below to print the nozzle check pattern, check the print head nozzle condition, then clean the Print Head. You may have to do this 2 or 3 times. If printed ruled lines are misaligned or print results are otherwise unsatisfactory, aligning the Print Head may improve print quality. Caution Do not rinse or wipe the Print Head and ink tanks. This can cause trouble with the Print Head and ink tanks. Note Before performing maintenance Open the Top Cover and make sure that all lamps on the ink tanks are lit red. If not, see Checking the Ink Status and take an appropriate action. Increasing the print quality in the printer driver settings may improve the print result.
