SOURCE: I craftsman 20 hp twin mower quits after waarm up
SOUNDS LIKE A FUEL PROBLEM OR DIRT WHAT OTHER SYMPTONS DOES IT HAVE
SOURCE: I have a craftsman 48" mower with a 24hp B&S
Sears obviously does not do much engine maint. The float level is a tad high (I doubt it but possible) or... there is debris in the float needle (probably) Take off the float bowl and then clean the needle and seat area. You might have to remove the float to do this. Shut off the fuel supply of course! Remove the main fuel line from the carb and spray carb cleaner UP into the float needle area to back flush out any debris through the fuel manifold / main fuel supply connection.
Try doing the above first and if you still have the same problem respond PLEASE with your engine type model series number that will be similar in layout as the one above your text.
44K777-0027-E1 (Example only no spaces either)
FYI if you do a float level adjustment... you bend the tab on the float where the float needle connects. Fuel flow should shut off just as the float is level. You bend the float needle tab in SMALL increments only.
Let me know how it goes please.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

take the float out and test iff the pin holding it in is free by holding the with pliers and moving the float up and down once back in the float should lift up and down free'ly iff not the pin needs to come out of the float and free'd up [sand with fine sand paper or polly-pad or steelo ]
