I have a Garmin Forerunner 50 with heart rate strap and foot pod. I can get it to recognize the heart rate strap but not footpod. I have tried all of the troubleshooting things in the manual except changing the battery, as I have never used the foot pod before trying to calibrate it. I have owned the watch for about 6 months. My watch was able to sync into my husband's footpod when he was standing too close to me as I tried to sync mine, which made me wonder if it really is a bad battery or not. If it's not the battery, is there something that needs to be done differently than in the manual to get it to recognize my footpod vs. my husband's?
As your Forerunner 50 first time was syncronized with your husbands footpod, now it is linked to him and that's why it can't find yours. You may even have to reinstall software, but I'm not sure. Try this link and you may find wht you are looking for:
