On PC:
1. Press the "Print Screen" button. This will copy a screenshot (like copying text). 2. Open MS Paint and press CTRL+V to Paste the screenshot. 3. File-->Save As... and save the screenshot to wherever you want, and be sure to change the file type from the drop down menu (or just type yourfilename.jpg if it is an older version.) The default is (or at least used to be, before I switched to Mac) .bmp which will create a relatively large file; too large to easily transfer through the internet.
On Mac OS X:
1. Press Command+Shift+3 or Apple+Shift+3 depending on the age of your keyboard. 2. Find your screenshot on the desktop. It will be titled 'Picture 1.' If I am not mistaken, it will have the extension .png.
If you would like to change the extension to .jpg, go to www.apple.com and search their downloads for a program called Deeper. It is a free app that allows you to modify many hidden settings within your mac. One of which changes the default extension to screenshots.

Help reset my laptop back to ariginal settings

This is quite easy to do, when your turn on your computer you need to hit a hotkey over and over again. The hotkey is different for each type of laptop but the common ones are f11, f1, f2, alt+0 and f12.
Once you reach the recovery screen you just need to follow the on screen prompts and you're all set
WARNING: Doing this will mean that you will lose all your personal data and installed programs that are on the computer.

Windows xp dell latitude e6400 print screen command? tried fn+alt+ (f11) prt scrn and fn+(f11) prt scrn neither worked looking foreward to hear from you

What the Print Screen option does is copies the screen to the clipboard. You will need to use a program such as Word and past the content to the open page.
By hitting the Print Screen button by itself will show the image of the desktop.
The Alt + Print Screen combination will give you a pic of the active window

You can also try this...
If your Print Screen is labeled in blue & your Function key is also blue then you have to hold Fn key while using Print Scrn , "Fn"+"Print Scrn" or "Fn"+"Alt+Print Scrn"

let me know if you have any other questions..
Thanks!

Hotkey Combination Fn - F10 F11 F12 doesn't work

I don't think it's a Windows problem, it will be notebook driver fault. The drivers for your keyboard hotkeys may need to be installed again or enabled. The driver will be on the cdrom that came with the laptop or on a seperate partition of your hard drive, normally in the restore folder, but just install drivers not a full restore.
