I made the mistake of lending camera to my sister to take pix of her grandson. When she returned it I hooked up the camera to my tv for viewing. The initial 4 pix were sharply focused and well lit but the remaining 30 or so had some kind of special effect added that made them appear to be softly focused and lit. My sister said that her son changed the settings on the camera and she did not know how to change it back. Well, I followed the steps in the manual to reset the camera and every time I got to the last step, the message Busy appeared on the screen. This happened about 5 times before I surrendered. Since I now regarded the camera as worthless, it has been sitting in a drawer for years. I recently discovered it and wondered if there was a way to fix it. It was an excellent camera.
1. Make sure camera is off, and then remove the batteries and memory card.
2. Close the battery door.
3. Press and hold down the on/off button for 1 minute.
4. Release the on/off button, and reinsert the batteries and memory card.
5. Power the camera on.
Settings Reset
Next reset the settings of the camera to the factory default.
1. While the camera is on, press and hold the menu button for approximately 10 seconds.
2. The screen should then display the message "Reset settings to default".
3. "Cancel" will be highlighted so move to the right and highlight "OK".
4. Press the SET button once "OK" has been highlighted.
5. The screen will say "busy" while the settings are returned to the default
Hi,

Before trying a reset, I verified that the camera was in auto mode. The pix were still bad.
