Cannot delete messages from trash or unread messages or archive. how do i delete them

Most likely you need to select the folder under the mail acct advanced settings - I select "move discarded messages to trash" - maybe you have "archive" selected. Also under the folder selection I chose the trash folder on the server so I can see deleted messages from all my devices that access my email acct.

When you open or select a message, you can use these icons to remove it from your Inbox:
Archive Delete You can archive and delete messages one-by-one or select multiple messages. To archive or delete all messages, you'll need to sign in to Gmail on your computer.
What happens when I archive or delete a message?
Archive removes the message from your Inbox but keeps it in your account so that you can find it later.
Delete moves the message to the Trash where it will be permanently deleted from your account after 30 days. Messages deleted from Trash can't be recovered.
Gmail gives you plenty of storage space, so if you think there's a chance you'll need the message later, just archive it.

Every mail provider has its own way of deleting or trashing the mail. Also each account has its own folder for trash. You should look in the Trash folder of the correct provider and correct account. But look careful. It could be your not trowing it away, but archiving the mail to a complete other folder from BT mail. Swiping to the left can deletion but like in Gmail, swiping to the left is archiving.

There are a few things that could cause this.
One, you might have a lot of old unread emails in your account that you have never opened or deleted.
If that's not the case, I would recommend deleting your email account of your phone and re-adding it.

All the deleted emails will moved to Trash Folder,
Kindly check your Trash Folder

Your trash will probably Auto delete after a set period
You can usualy change the time it waits before emptying
Unless Yahoo Mail Archives your emails its gone forever
Google Mail archives emails so even if you delete the trash you can get it back

Unfortunately, all the emails once deleted from spam email box cannot be retrieved. I wish there could have been a better solution.
