Re: Only two speakers will work on my dell dimensions...
HAVE YOU GONE TO THE CONTROL PANEL AND SET IT UP IN SOUNDS AND AUDIO THEN GO TO SPEAKERS ON THE SOUND TAB AND GO TO ADVANCED AND MAKE SURE IT'S SET UP FOR SURROUND SOUND .....OK

If your current speakers are plugged in to the back of the computer, then there is no way to install additional speakers unless you purchase and install a sound card.
Please try other speakers to make sure that it is in fact the computer and not the speaker port itself. If other speakers work, then it is most likely a driver problem. Try to find the drivers for your speakers and install them, restart, and reconnect your speakers. Good luck!
Sounds like you broke the volume control knob for your speakers (Likely A215s)
Best bet, new pair of speakers as they don't sell replacement parts for the speakers themselves
HI there bud..what you will need to do , is go to a PC or electronic store . Ask them for a Audio jack to RCA cable for your 5.1 Channel PC speakers , once bought , COnnect the required speakers , and .done :) Hope it works.Happy new year ;)
Less expensive for recieving is simply the "usb stick" I would recommand a "ralink" chipset, (can be found in USROBOTICS and some less expensive brand like TOPLINK
all of those are controlled by the video card-software management panel..go to dell support website, and make certain you have that latest driver set..then you should be able to enable any of those options.
You should be able to do it yourself. It's four screws that hold it in back, then all the power connectors.
If you're feeling unsure still, go to youtube and do a search on replacing a power supply....make sure you watch one in reference to a pc, not a mac or anything lol. And, when purchasing one, don't let the sales people hype you up to something with way more wattage than you need... 400 watt should be plenty for a dell 2400....it probably only has a 250 or 300 watt in it now anyways.
