I researched through Shop Jimmy and everything indicated that the inverter driver board needed replacing. Did that and it did not solve the problem. The time showed on the screen and then the screen went black again. There is sound and the flashlight test shows video on the screen. What else should I look at? TV is 7 months past warranty!
If your not a TV Engineer , get one to look at it , as you may keep changing the incorrect part.
I am not a TV engineer but I am a master electrician and have performed maintenance on a variety of elctronically controlled items. The part I replaced (inverter board whichh drives the backlights) was the exact part # as the one in the TV. I was also grounded so static eas not an issue. I will bite the bullet and buy a new tv before. By the time an engineer fixes it the cost of a new tv will be marginal and everything will be new. I do appreciate your response, thank you.
The reason I changed the inverter board was that all my research led to that as the primary cause.
