Noisy fan in freezer stops when refrigerator doors open not when freezer opens

The noise you hear is more than likely the fan hitting on ice buildup on the coils and you need to replace the "defrost thermostat" located on the coils in the freezer. Here is the part to order.
Here is a video to walk you thru the process. The model may be different but the process is the same.
Keep me posted.

I get a constant rattling noise out of the back of the regrigerator, UNLESS the freezer drawer is open, then it stops instantly

From your description it must be the drawer that is rattling against a wall or shelf. You may have bent something or lost a damper. Openclose it to see at what level it rattles, then see if you can tape a piece of sponge where it hits against something.

My Viking Freezer is three years old. The problem is the constant roaring sound it makes. No one can sit in my kitchen, family room or living room for very long before the noise from this freezer gets on...

There are several fans on your unit one on the top with the compressors, one inside the freezer, and one at the bottom. If you open the freezer and the noise gets louder or stops then you know it is the evaperater fan. Sometimes the bearings start to go and they make louder noise. Also check on the back wall for frost you could have a frosting problem and the fan blade is hitting on the ice

Frig is driving me crazy---weird noise and no ice!!

That might be the fan. Making that noise, because fan stops when you open the freezer. The ice maker might be a totally diffrent problem. The solenoid may not be opening to let the water in, which is usually cause by a bad solenoid.

Making a sound like fan is hitting something stops when pull open the drawer and ice tray

For me it was easy to fix. Ice had built up around the fan. I removed the bottom drawer. And remove the plate over the fan. That's the one in the back. 2 screws. remove the ice. Like new. The reason noise stops when you open the drawer is that the fan stops when you open it.

Freezer making grinding noise ice maker not working

Sounds like the icemaker may need to be replaced. When you open the freezer drawer it cuts power to the icemaker.

Amana Bottom Freezer door when shut starts a noise

The light is switched on and off by a small lever which is pushed when closing or opening the door. This operates a microswitch. It would not make any grinding noise. Grinding noise can come from the fanmotor which would also stop when the fridge door is open.
