Check your drum belt, sometimes this belt is broken or slipped off the motor pulley or idler arm pulley.
Also could be a faulty motor..
Another thing to try is to turn the drum by reaching inside of the drum and turning it by hand 1/4-1/2 turn with the dryer off. Then turn the dryer on again and see if it works.
Motors will sometimes get a dead zone in them and this help move it from the dead zone.
When you turned the drum backwards you caused the belt to come off. Put the belt back on. While you have it open to re-install the belt check the blower wheel very carefully for the noise. It is probably loose and needs replacing.
