The problem you described here shows that, the case is not likely to be a battery problem, but the laptop AC-Adapter (Charger) problem, because, the red light you are seeing shows that your battery has rundown, and even when you plug-in the adapter to AC, it still blinks red, showing that the AC-Power is not charging it. I would suggest that you get another Laptop AC-Adapter (The Charger), or try it with a friend's own first, then you'll see that the problem might not be with your battery but your AC-Adapter

My AceAcer aspire 7720z only charges when turned off but when turn off without the battery thus using only the adapter, it shows the orange light and goes on within 10 - 15 sec. Can someone help me plsssdd

Has it always only charged with the battery when it is closed, because that is very unusual. Most likely your li-on battery is dead or only holding a minimum charge. Most older laptops will not run without the battery or if the battery is dead. if the battery is not good it will not power up. You need a new battery, or get that one rebuilt at batteries plus or sonewhere.

My laptop is completely dead, fine yesterday. Today no lights, sounds nothing. I tried removing the battery , unplugging no response. Thanks,

Remove the battery for at least 3 minutes... Then put it back and then plug in the charger and switch on the charger. If the battery is completely drained, it would take a while for the charging to initiate. Please have patience and leave it on charging even though without the charging indication for at least an hour. After that still if the charging indicator doesn't lit, then its definitely your charger or laptop. You will need to take it to a service centre in that case.

I have an hp 620 laptop which i bought just recently. It was working ok for the last 3 months until today when i was working, using the battery coz it was 87% charged. The laptop went off just after it...

Compaq 620"?
that charge, data is useless, ill tell you why later.

does the LT run with no battery? never post lacking this fact.
IT must, or the power pack is bad or the PC is bad.(ask)

this is always test 1, if yes, the battery bad.
never seen any battery this old good,
not one.

I guess this is the old Compaq 620 that HP mutated to HP 620
no service tag presented so ,no really good answers possible

"I tried to take out the battery and leave the laptop the whole night without the battery, but still my laptop does not come on. (tried?)
so does that mean the battery is out, or in.? NOW?
try to be clear, as we can not do the simple tests nor watch you do them.
runs on wall power pack, A/C line 19vdc power pack.>?no battery.

IT MUST OR THE PC needs service. (or the A/C pack is weak(bad)
pC is like 2010 year. no battery lasts this long,

if the PC is dead, with no battery , with power pack only used,
then see here, for black screens, or dead BIOS.
