Lamp failure Lamp is dead, and I would like to buy a replacement and fit it myself. Don't know the part number, and where to buy it. The solution i was given is to send the scanner to the official microtek repair centre. Quite expensive. Many thanks for any tips. Fran

The E6 Scanner lamp can be substituted by a standard
F8T5CW lamp. It is 12 insches long, uses 8 watts, is in the
T5 tube size with two prongs at each end and cool white, not
warm white. The replacement lamp works fine.

Unless this scanner cost more than a hundred dollars, it is hard to imagine how to fix it in a cost effective way. Good scanners are pretty cheap now, too, around $30. You could also try to find a replacement scanner of the same type on eBay...
