If the main light flashes 10 times when the door reverses to the open position it is your door sensors. Make sure the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors.

Tried to reprogram security code for outdoor key pad on 1/2hp craftsman garage door opener according to instructions online, pressed learn button- put in new 4 digit code-held enter. Lights did not flash...

Seems you've done everything right. Press and immediately release the smart/learn button and then walk over and key in a 4 digit code and press enter. If you are sure the battery in the keypad is good then I think your keypad is on the fritz or the wrong one for that opener.

Ok so I am having a problem with craftsman garage door, The sensor light are right on green and one orange, but i still have to hold down the button in the garage to shut the door. Also today i thought...

If when you try to close the door the main light flashes 10 times and the door starts down and then reverses to the open position you have a door sensor problem. Make sure the lights in the sensors are not flickering ever so slightly. The color of the lights doesn't mean anything. The keypad sounds like a separate problem. Make sure the battery is good.

Check your door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

Have sears garage door opener it lifts allright but cant close unless you hold the wired pad. works ok up with the remote just jumps a little when you push down button will not close with remote.

Check your door sensors and make sure they are pointed at one another. Each of them has a small light that should be lit when they are properly aligned. Tweak them if necessary. If you can't get both lights to come on then one of the sensors has quit working.

The garage key pad has stopped working

The most common problem for your situation is that the battery in your wallmounted key pad needs to be replaced. unscrew the little screw on the face of the device, remove the battery and replace it with one just like it. Radio shack usually has these batteries

Key pad will not work to close after it just opened the door

I can't tell if you're question is accurate, are you saying that the key pad will only open the door and never closes it or that it will only do one direction then you have to use the remote? If you're saying the keypad will not close the door at all, that may be a safety issue since closing doors can potentially damage property or worse, if your saying the remote works both ways then you probably need to reset your opener and keypad. Cut the power to the opener, leave it disconnected for five minutes. Reconnect and try keypad again. If this doesn't resolve the problem them you may have a bad circuit and will have to call a pro.

Craftman garge door opener changing code on key pad

having all the remotes you want programed with you, find learn button on back of opener. hold button until little light goes out- no remote will work now, with each remote Press learn button once,Press big button on remote-light bulb on opener will blink on/off if bulb is working-do this each hand held-keyless is same way, put you 4 #'s in HOLD enter button-light bulb blinks on/off you have 15 sec. for each time you hit the learn button. also best to start off with new 9 volt battery before you start programing
