Fill your machine with hot water (if you only have cold water connected, then add hot water with a bucket) until the machine is filled to the top mark. Add a cup of dishwasher powder and stir it to dissolve. You can also let you machine run a short while, but be carefull that the water is not pumped out. Turn the machine off and let it stand overnight. Then turn it on the next morning and let it wash a complete cycle. You don't have to let the rinse part of the cycle complete. Just turn the machine off when the first water has been pumped out.

What this does: The machine builds of a residue between the drum and outer housing which is not removed in the normal wash cycle, especially if you don't wash with hot water. LG recommends that the machine is cleaned in the above way once "fluff" or black residue is starting to show in clothes after washing.

What will cause the washing machine to not spin fast enough to spin the clothes dry or not spin the fabric softener out of the agitator cup?

If your towels are coming out the dryest it is probably a problem with it being off balance. Did you make sure that the clothes are even placed in the washer. If you have a bunch of heavy stuff on one side and light stuff on the other side it could cause the same problem.

I have a whirlpool wash machine, the spin cycle does not spin all the time.sometimes i need to lift lid and start spinning it myself.it seems that something is holding it up

You need to take front panel off and check clutch, take a hammer and lightly hit clutch if black stuff falls off, that's whats holding it back. Add WD40 to it, and then it sould be back to normal, if it doesn't work then your washer is not worth repair

Where ecxactly do you put washing powder and stasoft

Washing powder should go in the right hand side compartment, if it is not going down, then check that water is coming into washer.
Conditioner should go in the smallest of the compartments.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.

Washer not spinning

Plug off the mains. The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too.

First check your kitchen drain (or wherever your washer is installed)by pouring a good amount of water into it, to see if it is clear. Try snaking it out.

Washing mashine issues :O(

The problem you describe is a broken motor coupling. This is a very inexpensive and easy fix if you follow these insturctions:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385250-replacing_motor_coupling_kenmore_top

The black stuff you mentioned is usually from the rubber bushing of the motor coupling. Some of the old couplers are made entirely of plastic which means they wear out faster. The newer couplers have a metal grommet that makes them more durable. Use the part number provided. If you require further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a GE front load washer model # whdvh626fww. it keeps making alot of noise when in the spin cycle and the belt keeps coming off. at first I thougt it was out of balance but that was not it . when I...

I have a different suggestion based on my washer's similar problem. If the black stuff is powdery and localized at the back of the unit, more than likely the culprit is the drum pulley itself is warped, causing the belt to chafe against the drum. The black powder is rubber residue from the scraping of belt on plastic. No need to replace unit. New belt and new pulley run about $70 each.

Hotpoint aquarius deluxe1000 WM22 Its not working........

Surely by now you've checked to see if your water inlet into the machine is good, ie turn on the taps. The machine wont start if there is no water coming in. Try the spin only function, it works??
