How do i program baofeng uv 5ra im a fire man and wanna make it scan police codes fire codes and ens codes and be able to talk to dispatch on the fire and ems codes

If you were deemed important enough to need one. As a "Fireman" you would know police use trunking systems and are not tied together with fire as well as the police and fire dont talk to each other directly. info is relayed through central respective dispatch or through the Fire chief in case of an emergency.. You have to be in "VFO" mode. Your best bet on that extremely difficult to use radio, is to get "chirp" and the proper cable and program it via a computer. If you search on-line for "baofeng programming" you may find an alternate set of instructions. Your absolute best bet: throw that PoS away and get a Yaesu FT-60.
The problem I found with the programming software was with the driver that is included with the software. Google Baofeng software driver and follow the instructions on how to load as well as how to remove the non-working driver. If you don't remove the original driver, windows will revert back to the original instead of using the new driver. Good Luck!
ok check whats is the program firmware when you turn of press the number 3 hold annd turn on and you see BF297 or BF291 if are 291 the program is BF_5R IF NOT ARE BAOFENG NEW VIP GOOD LUCK OR GO TO MILKLOR.COM
