Are your feed dogs down? If not check your stitch length or possibly it is set to tack stitch. What material are you trying to sew? If it is lightweight like tulle you will have to set your feed dogs. Check your manual on how to do this.

Janome Machine will not feed material !!

If the fabric is not feeding, the feed dogs are probably not operating properly. Check that they have not been dropped below the needle plate (which is done when darning or free motion quilting). In this setting, the feed dogs never rise above the needle plate to grab and pull the fabric.

The other issue could be that the feed dogs are defective or perhaps seized.

Since you did not provide a model, I can provide only this assistance. It would be helpful to locate (search for make model manual) for your machine.

My Singer 6268 is having problems with the feed dogs.

Get your book and see about dropping feed dogs. Sometimes little fingers at my machine can do something I can't obviously see until going through all the steps. Singer has a trouble shooting site on their webpage to ask questions on as well. And doing a google of the model and being on their customer site might find someone with the same issue and an answer.

My Needle just stitch in one place

check in the manual and see where the feed dog lever is a check to see if it's in the up position for sewing or in the down position for darning, if it's in the up position, then the machine needs to be checked to see if there is something wrong with the feeddogs or the feed dog lever..

White model 445 material won't feed?????

Hi Jason. I wonder if you have your feed dogs lowered. It's near the bobbin area.

Here's a pdf of your manual. It talks about "drop feed" on book page 19

Good luck

Material won't feed through on kenmore 17600 sewing machine

Take out the material, take off the foot and needle. Stick your finger on the feed dogs and hand turn the hand wheel like sewing. Does the feed dog come slightly above the surface of the needle plate? If it does.... tighten the presser foot tension.

If it doesn't locate the switch that drops the feed dog. Make sure it's in up position.

If neither of those solutions work. Remove the needle plate and see if the feed dog or mechanism that runs it is broken

Good luck

Model 1425n singer sewing machine's feeddog will not advance the material. The feed doesn't seem to move. I can't locate the level to raise it. I bought a medal feed to replace the rubber one...

i think your gears inside need replacing. remove the 4 flat head screws on bottom of machine. pull of the cover and look for pieces of plastic crumbs everywhere. that was the problem with mine.

Singer 6268, needle timing advice

I have a Singer Sewing machine, Model #6268. The threads have knotted up on the underside of the material. When I finally was able to pull it all out, it caused the needle to hit on the bobbin plate (hope that is right). Now the needle is bending, not going through. How can I adjust it back as it supposed to be? I have had this happen before, but it cost way too much to get it repaired. And I still don't know why this happens (the threads getting tangled).
Thanks!
