How Do I turn off sleep mode on my HP P3015 Laser printer.I have set up Static IP to the printer and it works fine but, after a while the printer goes to sleep and never wakes up.

you need to go to the printer on computer, then to the port settings and use the usb dot 4 port - will be that

Disable or enable sleep mode

1. Press the Menu button .
2. Open each of the following menus. Press the down arrow to highlight it and then press the OK button to select it.
   
   1. CONFIGURE DEVICE
   2. RESETS
   3. SLEEP MODE
3. Press the up arrow or down arrow / to select the ON or OFF setting, and then press the OK button.
4. Press the Menu button .

press go button 2 times ,printer and computer is not connected properly .

Make sure that the IP address is the same as the LJ4
When you display the printer from the control panel can you actually see it?
Look at the properties and check the IP address

This model does actually have embedded network functionallity.
To configure the IP Address, follow the menu map as below:
1) - (4) I/O
2) - (4-2) Embedded JetDirect Menu
3) - (4-2-2) TCP/IP
4) - (4-2-2-1) Enable (Make sure this is 'On')
5) - (4-2-2-3) IPV4 Settings
6) - (4-2-2-3-1) Config Method (Auto = DHCP, Set to Manual in order to specify an IP address.)
7) - (4-2-2-3-2) Manual Settings (This is where you can set the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway.)

It sounds like you may have set a static IP address for the printer. I've seen the same thing. To solve this you can either change the setting back to DHCP or provide a static IP address outside of the range of your router's DHCP address list. The easiest would be to return it to DHCP setup. I would suggest a static IP address of 192.168.1.220.

I'm having the same problem with three networked P3015 printers on a Windows 2003 server. They stopped printing PDF files last week. The universal PS driver from HP works, but it's a pretty ugly solution. I'd like to know why the PCL driver just stopped working.
Btw, we're printing from Acrobat 9.4.2. Word, Excel, and other office printing is fine still.

In most cases the formatter board is causing this problem. The only way to solve it is replacing the formatter board

Hi, Check the power saving setting under the printer. Usually the power saving setting for network is switched on, this needs to be switched off.
