Posted on Jul 09, 2009

I have the Lg fridge model LSC26905TT side by side. There is a humming noise-that we never heard before-along with the freezer side on the outside is very hot, and the middle section on the inside where both doors comes together-is very hot-not warm but hot.

Okay, the heat you're feeling is normal. That's the door heaters doing their job. Without them, you'd have condensation building up in those areas and water all over the floor. Unless you can smell something cooking from those or, they stop working, they'll be okay. Most likely it has something to do with the humming which I will address now.
The condenser is probably plugged with dirt. This will cause the compressor to work harder and make that humming noise. Because it can't remove the heat as well (from being plugged), the cabinet is heating up in those areas you mention beyond their normal temperature.
Clean that condenser and see if that helps. It must be free of all obstructions to work properly.
Worst case scenario. If the condenser is clean, the compressor might have gone bad.

Insulation does not melt - gaskets may be affected by hot temps.

Your condenser coils may be located on sides of fridge. If so the unit will be warm to the touch on the outside.

LG side by side model# lsc26905tt, won't dispense water. I can hear the pump trying to pull water but the water is sitting in water line just outside of filter on the outside of fridge.

Sounds like the dual solenoid water control vave. Located in the back it will have two wire connectors going to solenoids. They are replaced as a pair and most local appliance dealers have universal replacemants. http://www.lg.com/us/refrigerators/lg-LSC26905TT-side-by-side-refrigerator

LG LSC26905TT refrigerator not freezing. Everything is melting in the freezer and fridge.. Lights are on, but no cold air is coming.

Remove all items from the fridge and keep open the fridge doors for atleast 2 days and that will remove all the frosted ice on the evaporator(which can't be seen) and shall work fine after two days.

Not freezing

This unit has issues with the evap fan freezing up. If you heard a grinding noise coming from freezer, fan froze up. Unplug unit, open freezer door and if you have a box fan, point it into freezer for a couple hours. Be sure to unplug fridge

Burning electrical smell, refrigerator hot at lt side (freezer side) and at center area between doors

When you smelt this was the fan in freezer off? If so it is most likely in defrost mode and the smell is from frost melting and hitting the heater in the freezer. The hot on the sides and in the center. Is this outside the box? If so this is normal. There are coils inside the frame of a fridge that stay warm to eliminate condensation. Sometimes they shift and get too close to the wall and thats what you are feeling.

If you have any further questions please feel free to contact.
