Hi I had had my KC watch for 2 years, it was a 40th birthday present. I only wear it on special occassions, so in fact have only worn it in total for about a week. The rest of the time it stays in my jewellery box. Last week I noticed that the second hand had fallen off and then yesterday the minute hand fell off, leaving only the hour hand intact! Can this be repaired? Is it covered by it's lifetime warranty? and can it be fixed in the UK as that is where I live??

The issue reported is not about how to set the watch, it is about the fact that it stops if it us not worn continually. This could be an indicator of the movement needing to be serviced. Automatic watches such as yours need to be serviced regularly, every 3-5 years or as needed by such indications. My recommendation is to see a Certified Master Horologist to test the watch on the timing machine.
When serviced, there should be approximately a 45 hour power reserve when fully wound.
Hi most KC watches have a screw on back so it should screw off anti clockwise, there is a special tool fits into the groves but a apir of long nose pliers will do the job but be carefull not to let them slip and scratch the back
hey anita, my mother is special like you, she can notwear any type of time peice becouse they will stop. I believe it has to do with your inner electrical charge. As i have gotten older the same issues have arose for myself
It probably needs a good cleaning and lubrication. This can be done at any watch repair shop, even the ones they have in Sears department stores, if you have no specialty shops in your are.
That's right- your watch needs battery replacement. No matter you wear it every day or just once a year - battery life comes to an end in a two years time approximately. Expect the same all over and over again.
Rate me, plz.
I hate to be blunt be if it stops after 8 hours of wear, it may need a service! Most watches (particularly automatics which winds constitantly, when being worn).
Take it to your local watchmaker for a assessment? If it's less then 2 years old take it back to your place of purchase with reciepts as most swatch group (rado, longines, and tag etc) have a 2 year international g/t (that what we have here in australia and way, please consult your warranty card for verification!)
Use a winder if you must but I recommend just winding and setting when you want to wear them as most winders I have seen are very cheap and unreliable. Expect up to 50 hours from most watches usually not less than 30, this is if the have recent< 5 years, overhaul.
