Haier compact refrigerator freezin up...runs all the time on number 1 setting, the lowest setting. Thermostat wire dangiling after defrosting chunks of heavy ice (used hair dryer and screwdriver wedging of ice). Need to know how and where to position wire (is it in some holes I see under the freezer ice cube section? I do non know what evap plate looks like btw).
The evaporator is the inside of the freezer. Put the temp probe/wire in the freezer. You can bend it to fit in one of the holes. Turn your thermostat up to 3. Problem solved. I just went through this with mine. Hope I can save some one else all the trial and error.
No 1 setting is close to zero degrees C the setting should be around 4 for normal every day use
call a technician to fix /replace the thermostat
if you continue to use a metal object ( screw driver , knife, fort etc ) when defrosting , you problems with the fridge will soon be over as you will puncture the evaporator section and that is not repairable so you will require a new unit

There should be a clip on the back of the evaporator plate with a bit of foil which normally covers the stat wire end which is the sensor.
