No. WS C2960S 48FPS uses the Universal image, but no license is required. The feature is bound to the hardware model type and cannot be changed. 2960-X is manual configurable and 2960-S is smart dont need to configure.

You can only reset password this way:
1.
Attach a terminal or PC with terminal emulation (for example, Hyper Terminal) to the console port of the switch.
Use the following terminal settings:

• Bits per second (baud): 9600
• Data bits: 8
• Parity: None
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow Control: Xon/Xoff

2.Unplug the power cable.

Try using username (none) pass public/private/secret or
cisco - cisco, ADMIN - changeme, pixadmin - pixadmin, root - attack, superuser - superuser as username - password. These are the defaults credintials for the Cisco routers.
