Hi Terry
Use a Flashlight and check carefully.
There is probably a simple Infra Red Light source shining across a gap and being blocked from the sensor.
The wires on the back of the Light source & IR Sensor are the giveaway.
It thinks it's blocked!.... They can't really think, just a switch!
Could be a switch also but a IR Detector is more likely.
Remove the toner cartridge and use a source of high pressure air to blow out.
Obviously the sensor could be broken... Usually Not the case!
