My Duo has dial tone, I can dial out, and it works fine. But when anyone calls me they immediately get an automated message to the effect "the number you dialed is not a working number, please hang-up and check the number." How do I fix this.

This is a problem with the your VOIP carrier failing to translate and switch incoming calls to your device. Contact them and describe the problem and they should be able to fix it fairly quickly.

Whenever I place a call and am asked to dial an extension , I keep getting the message to enter the number and am unable to complete the call.

Do you hear tones when you press the buttons to dial? Many phones have the option to dial by pulses instead of tones. Make sure your phone is set to tones.

NET10 W408g does not allow using the Xlink gateway fully, especially sending DTMF codes to automated systems.

Been a long time since I have seen this phone but I seem to remember a setting like this. Some phones had a long and short setting too.

Activate DTMF tones: Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > DTMF When you dial a number, your phone sends it to your network as Dual Tone Multi Frequency (DTMF) tones. To send DTMF tones during a call, just press number keys or scroll to a number in the phonebook or recent calls lists and press Options > Send Tones

My KX-T7030 phone will not send a tone during a call, so I cannot "Press 1" or any number to use automated options. It does dial numbers ok??

If it dials O.K., try pressing # and see if it turns on the DTMF pad. You could have pulse dial on outside calls enabled, and that would keep the keypad in pulse mode until it's told to send tones.

This is really only a guess. The type of dialing is programmed in CO trunks and it's possible it's been set to Call Blocking! It is designed to send pulse only and block the audio of DTMF so the CO won't get confused. You might start with changing the Type Dial to DTMF and test. If that doesn't work, try Pulse and test. Last, if that doesn't work, you will need to keep call blocking and try the # after dialing.

Please comment back if it does or doesn't work. We don't see much pulse dial around here.

Swicth from tone to pulse

1) When the phone is in standby mode, press and hold the caller id/menu key.
2) Press the vol/ / key three times to select Dial.
3) Press the select key to toggle between Tone and Pulse.
4) Press the end key or return the handset to the base unit to complete the setting. The handset returns to standby mode.

This phone also has a feature that allows you to use Pulse dialing to make calls, but allows you to switch to tone dialing for automated systems (like “Please Press 1 for English) here are the steps for that:

Initially make your call with the pulse dialing mode. Once your call connects, press
the */tone key. Enter the desired number. These digits will be sent as tone dialing.
Once the call ends, the tone mode is canceled and pulse dialing mode resumes.

3. At the tone, dial the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.

4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.

5. Hang up the receiver.
