Does not collect water (also 2 years old).

It was working fine, until one day it just stopped collecting water. I had a hose connected to a drain pump, when I noticed the hose was bone-dry. I took out the adapter and hose so that the water could collect in the bucket. When running, I hear the compressor, but no water is collecting in the bucket. Is this normal for a 2-year-old product? It's very frustrating to pay over $200 for a product that stops working just under 2 years. Where can I get it serviced?

Thanks, ribnrose. If I had known, I would have never bought one. Are there more reliable systems out there besides the portables?

I own a Whirlpool Dehumidifer Model Number AD 70USS1. I have a drain hose connected to the unit, however, recently the unit's internal collection bucket fills with water to the point that the...

superstee - You're having to empty it because either the drain hose you have connected to the unit is clogged or the drain hole a the hose connection is clogged. Therefor, the water is drained into the tank, rather than the drain hose. Also, the drain hose would not be any longer than 5' and must drain down, as the dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies totally on gravity.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If clear check the drain hose connection, using an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. Gingerly work past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The while slowly pulling it out, rotate the Zip Tie. This will dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie removal, be prepared for some water to follow. CAUTION: BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE TURN THE MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT.

The above should solve the problem for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Everything seems to work but it is not collecting any water. Two years old, FDL25P11. Has worked perfectly until now, 25 qts every two days

Apparently the room humidity was too low (we were in a long cold dry spell) now that the rains have returned the machine works fine.

Dehumidifier runs but does not collect water

I have dehumidifier Whirlpoot Gold Model #39R171E Serial #H/XE11M1K 6203A it was working fine last year, but this year it is not collecting any water, it is running for day. I opened it, cleaned the filter (which was mostly clean) & it still has not water in bucket. What is wrong & is it possible to fix it by myself.

Dehumidifier collecting water in container

If you have the hose drain tube connected, drainage will defer to it first. If you remove the hose drain tube, the place where it connects to the drain pan drips into the container instead.

Connecting a drain hose

Most units have a drain connection, either on the machine itself, or in the collection pail. These connections usually fit standard garden hoses.
