Toshiba 163, Have a wrench lit up. So I put in the code 8 clear/stop so it will show the error code. No error code is popping up. The number 8 just stays on the screen, like nothing happened.

On startup, if the machine shows a wrench-icon, press down "8" and "clear/stop" key simultaneously to show the exact error-codes. A list of detailed error-codes can be found here: http://officeimagingsystems.com/id175.html

When the key of the digital keys and the [CLEAR/STOP] button are pressed simulta-neously, an error code (consisting of a letter of the alphabet and numbers) appears on the LED display.
What is the error code?
If "C4x" error code, perform 08-400, reset the value to "0".

Fisrt off please hold down the 8+C buttons together, there will show a error code in the copy quantity display.
Now not knowing what the error code is, i am going to hope that it is C44 that is the most common
error code on the E163 machine. If it is C44 please do the following.
Switch off the machine.
While holding down 0+8 buttons, switch on the machine.
When ad shows on the display, input 400 then press the start button.
If the value is not 0, input 0 button and press the interupt and energy saver buttons to save the change.
Switch off the machine wait awhile and then switch the machine on again.
The problem should be sorted out.
If the error code is not C44 you will have to let us know what the error code is, by holding the8+0 buttons down together.

you have a error code you must press 8+clear buttons down together and it will give you a code i must know what the code is

You will press clear/stop and 8 button simultaneous indicate the service code.. after solve the problem..

CALL SERVICE (wrinch ) symbol appears, press the CLEAR/
STOP and "8" keys simultaneously and the corresponding error code will be displayed.
