How do I transfer my programs from my Motorola DVR to an external device like a computer or hard drive? I want to hook up an external hard drive to - trnsp.gif Question How do I transfer my programs from my Motorola DVR to an external device like my computer or hard drive?
I want to hook up an external hard drive to - trnsp.gifsrc="/uploads/images/trnsp.gif" alt="trnsp.gif" class="h_mi" /> Answer No. Currently you can't offload recorded content to any external device from a Motorola DVR, even though the data ports are there, the software doesn't support it yet. When the option becomes available through a software upgrade, it will be downloaded to DVR automatically by service providers/cable companies.

Dch3416 cable display zero??

the box is missing all its channel line up info

best case sanario in 1/2 hour it will be done downloading it all again. too impatient to wait?

1) turn everything on as if it was working.
2) press power to turn off the cable box only (leave the tv on) and begin pressing ok or select over and over right away. may take a couple tries
3) you see a white screen with black text? select OOB and see if it says good or at least fair
4) select inband and see if it says good or atleast fair
5) if both good or fair wait; else make certain all cables are tight then check again
6) if they are NA or poor or anything of the sort call your cable operator

good luck

Can i connect my motorola dch3416 dvr to my laptop and save programs that i recorded to my hard drive?

Hi,

Motorola DCH3416 has an USB port to connect to a PC. But you can't copy the files from DVR to laptop, they are encrypted and locked down, even if you opened the box and pulled out the drive you wouldn't be able to get a PC to recognize the format or copy the files off the drive.

(You can not connect data devices without contacting your service provider.
Because the Digital Rights Management (DRM) laws instituted by the entertainment industry prohibit the movement of copyrighted content from one system to another.)

Hope this helps

How to set a clock on a hd dual tuner dvbr dch3416

The clock should set automatically, synchronized with your cable provider's time. You can't change it, as far as I know. OR does it display the channel number and you want it to display the time? If so, go to your onscreen menu (home), choose setup, choose cable box setup, front LED display: current channel ----> current time.

Connecting a esata port to a sate external hard drive

I don't think there is a converter from USB to ESATA, but you could buy a new Hard Drive enclosure that has those options, but I am not sure if you are willing to take out the HD from the existing one.

New Seagate FreeAgentPro USB eSATA 500GB power on light not glows

Thank you for your reply.

I have solved the problem with local help.

Printed installation manual of Seagate 500 GB eSATA external hard drive has not properly mentioned how to use power on/off switch once connected to mains. I could get local help, who has already used the device. On/Off switch to be pressed for few seconds after mains connected, sometimes it comes automatically once power is on and USB cable pluged to the USB port of PC if power supply is ok. There is no indicator for the power supply (before device glows) after connected to the mains. I was in confusion whether power supply is ok or not.

Finally, It was found that the problem was with mains power supply and I have changed the power socket and adapter.

How to connect a motorola DCH3416 to a computer Can I connect an external Hard drive to a DCH3416 USB or SATA port so that programs record to the externl HDD, or how can I tranfer recorded program to the...

Nope...

The eSATA ports are not configured in the device's firmware, and the USB 2.0 ports are useless except for charging your iPod or powering a USB fan. If you could connect an external drive to the unit, it would be partitioned with data encryption that can only be accessed by the particular DVR that formatted the drive. You can however stream local channels to a video capture card via the firewire ports but cable channels and DVR recorded programs would be encrypted. You can thank the MPAA for the grief...

Freeagent tools is not working

With your XP problem..
Goto My Computer and right click.
Select Manage
In the window that opens select Storage and then Disk Management.

Your drives will be there, but need to be mounted. Right clicking on the drive will give you your options etc.

Your Vista problem I will have ot contemplate, though it's probably a software compatability issue more then anything.

Try running the EXE file under XP compatability, or check the website for an updated version. Be sure to get the 64 bit or 32 bit version as required.

ESata connection

Are you using the latest drivers? Most of the time the drivers you get with products do not have the latest drivers. Try http://www.vantecusa.com/download.html This will have the latest drivers for your operating system.
