From the Facebook Help Center:

How do I call someone from Messenger
To make a call:

 1. Open a conversation with a friend.
 2. Tap g">. If the icon is gray, you can't currently call this person.
Keep in mind that you may not be able to call people if their phones aren't connected to the internet. Placing calls through the Facebook or Messenger apps may use your existing data plan.

Hope this helps.

From messenger it says microscope and camera need to to be turned on and microphone

It asks for permission of your camera to take photos and send them to anyone who is on your messenger list. You also need camera and microphone to do both a voice call and also a video call. Microphone is also useful to use voice to text instead of typing your message. You can also use the microphone to leave voice messages.. you can use Facebook messenger as your main text message app on your phone as well. Good Luck

Review of Windows Live Messenger 2011 and how to Record MSN Video Call easily.

Microsoft has released the latest version of Windows Live Essentials 2011 to everyone on a Windows based PC, which comes loaded with very useful and helpful everyday programs that make our lives a little easier and more entertaining. If you're not already aware from some of our previous previews, Windows Live Messenger 2011 contains a brand new ribbon interface that aims to bring Messenger in-line with other ribbon-based UI's such as Windows 7 Paint and Microsoft Office 2010. It is not supported or installable on Windows XP and only runs on Windows 7 and Windows Vista. It has gone through 15 changes and redesigns, protocol upgrades, rebranding, and many partnerships like Yahoo! Messenger and Facebook Chat. But if you're familiar with Windows Live Messenger, you'll notice all the old features are still available, from contact games, send and receive files, and many more. Many of the basic features have been slightly tweaked or improved, to suit consumers' needs better. And I will introduce an useful tool:
MSN Video Recorder to show how to record your video call easily.
Social Networks in Main UI
The obvious major change to the interface is that the main window area is no longer just your friends list. The friends list has been moved to the right hand side and the majority of the window is taken up by your social networking. Currently, you can integrate Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn accounts into this main window.
Add Facebook Chat
Facebook Chat is one of the new additions in Windows Live Messenger, with the ability to talk to friends on Facebook without having to use a browser. Instant messages received from your Facebook contacts use the standard Messenger window, so your chats almost look identical to your real Messenger contacts', but you only have the ability to send text and emoticons. All your chats, including Facebook are now all grouped together in tabs, a much easier way to keep your contacts organized without having multiple windows flashing.
New Designed Contact Window
The contact window hasn't changed very much over the last few years, but this version gives file sharing a whole new meaning. Now when you paste links or send photos, Windows Live Messenger will open up a file sharing window, allowing you both to view the image within your contact window. And Windows Live Messenger automatically embeds YouTube videos in the conversation window when you post a YouTube link, as long as both people are running 2011.
Updated Emoticons
Windows Live Messenger has gone with the old emoticons that started with Windows Messenger back when Windows XP was first launched. The updated emoticons all have new designs and improved graphics for more detail, and some even have updated animations. Windows Live Messenger allows you to add your own personal emoticons, including animated ones, to send to your friends.
Expended Options
There hasn't been much added to the option panel over last year's release, but the layout has been slightly tweaked and options moved around. Some options have been expanded to better customize your Messenger, as well as clearer explanations, to better understand the options you are configuring. Unfortunately, custom names have since been removed, and now only display your first and last name, which is editable from Windows Live profile.
Greatly Improved Video Call Window
The interface for video has been completely revamped in Windows Live Messenger 2011. You might recall in earlier versions of Messenger, video calls were displayed inside large chromes within the conversation window. Moreover, video is now edge-to-edge so that you can see more of your friend, with no distractions. But of course you can still access all the rich sharing options and quickly add photos, web videos, and links to your video call. Show your pictures and see how your chat partner reacts.
The Way to Record Windows Live Messenger Video Call
Even though the video call of Windows Live Messenger has changed a lot, there is no recording function yet. It is a shame that so many users are eager to be able to record MSN video call and save on the PC to share with their friends and family whenever they want. Here is a recorder tool called Camersoft MSN Video Recorder helping every user easily to record video call. You can learn more and free trial from Camersoft Studio website
http://www.camersoft.com
This MSN Video Recorder is professional recorder software for Windows Live Messenger. It could record MSN webcam during video call with your friends or family and save as AVI video files on your PC or laptop. This Windows Live Messenger video recorder is very easy to use, only a few mouse clicks are needed to complete MSN recording work. Even better, Camersoft MSN Video Recorder is integrated with an advanced Video Converter component, which could be used to convert your recorded videos to all popular formats, such as MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV, FLV, MP3, AAC, etc. And it supports many portable players and mobile devices like: iPod, iPhone, BlackBerry, Zune, iRiver, PSP, and so on. It must be very interesting and joyful that you can share the recorded videos with your friends and family.

I shut FaceBook off. Accidently shut off Messenger. Want to keep Messenger. How do I do this?

you can keep using Messenger if you don't have a Facebook account.

If you've never had a Facebook account, you can sign up for Messenger with your mobile phone number:

 1. Open the Messenger app, enter your phone number and tap Continue.
 2. Once you've confirmed your phone number, add your name and photo to get started. You'll have the option to sync your contacts so you can message anyone in your phone.

If you had a Facebook account and deactivated it:

 • Using Messenger won't reactivate your Facebook account.
 • Your Facebook friends can still find you on Messenger and Facebook Chat.

To add people to your contacts on Messenger, enter their phone numbers
messenger app if needed.

I have had a conversation with a friend private mess not on Facebook is there a way I can recover them if so please tell me thanks

We use Facebook daily to do conversation with our friends, relatives and sometimes with our profession clients too.
It's very important for us to get those conversations back if mistakenly they can deleted.
Some common situations that lost Facebook messages you can recover from:
1. accidentally deleted it on your android phone
2. lost messages after Android 5.0 updated or other Android upgrade.
3. save messages from water damaged, crashed, broken or smashed Android phone
4. Android deleted messages randomly by itself
5. Factory restore Android phone.
And more...
Watch this video and share it with your friends too so that they can also get their precious lost data back.

How do I get my old facebook account back?

For one thing, you do not open a Facebook profile for a business, you open a Facebook business page, if you insist on doing it, you should have used a different number and email address, that's Facebook 101.

I would suggest you log out of your new account, do a search for the old account, log into that one and change both the phone number and the email

Since Facebook only allows one profile per person, I would suggest you change both asap before FB randomly decides to eliminate one of the profiles

I am receiving my friends messages but she's not receiving mine

Use Facebook, Twitter, Gmail Chat. For whatever reason you're using Yahoo messenger, if you're too attached to it to use something else, try disconnecting and reconnecting, or send a different type of message, or try to connect with a video chat or phone call through Yahoo.
