HP Officejet J5780 scanner communication error

put any picture of your choice in the scanner plate...go to paints click on open ...there you will see a option which says scan click on it..thats all it will startscanning..but for this you must have windows 7 or vista..and also all the drivers must be installed properly..to check the drivers for your printer you can go to this link  " http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=in&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3301296 "

Kindly install the scanner software for printer the driver software cd just re install it will install the scanner software and make sure in device manger there is not other usb device listed if it is there just remove it. And refresh it in will automatically install the driver.

2. Click New scan .
3. Click File , and then click Scan .

2. Click Paint .
3. Click File , and then click From Scanner or Camera .
4. Click Scan .

click on start and in the start search box type devmgmt.msc
click on enter
in the device manager click on view and click on show hidden devices.
now check if you get a grey mark against your printer entry(when you click on the plus sign ) or against the imaging device if you do .
click on the plus sign before printers and imaging devices and right click the printer /imaging device entry if you get an option that says enable click on that and restart the printer and the computer and this should resolve your issue if this does not uninstall and re-install your printer software

go into tool on pc and open paint, that,s what works for me. or call hp and they will walk you thur

it means that te software for the scanner is not properly installed or corrupted,reinstalling the software will solve
thnx N
