Does a speed queen washer have overload protection? Machine stop in cycle and is completely dead at any point in cycle for some time

Machine sometimes stops in cycle, usually at start of draining cycle. When stopped you can turn timer to any point with no result. Machine is dead. After standing for some time(40 min) it starts working again

Yes it definitely has and does stop for about 40 minutes before resetting. It is actually a electric motor protection that kicks in when the motor becomes to hot. Do not overload the machine and check the drive belt. IT MUST BE A BELT PROVIDED BY SPEED QUEEN DUE TO SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS REQUIRED OF THE BELT. Normal V-belts do no slip causing the motor to overhead even with a light load.
