Pride Jazzy Jet 3 Ultra Electric Wheelchair. Fuse keeps blowing I was given a Jet 3 Ultra for my mom .. I bought new batteries and installed them.. charged them over night ..

Question edited for clarity.

You have a dead short somewhere. You need some electrical knowledge and a digital multimeter for testing. Take all the covers off. Look for wiring that has rubbed through and touching or melted. Disconnect one of the motors and replace the fuse. If it still blows, reconnect that one and disconnect the other motor. If one motor doesn't blow and the other does, you know you have a faulty motor. If neither stop the issue, then you move up to the controller and look up there. With a meter you can check for shorts within the motors, as well as grounds.

Or just take it to a Service Centre and have it repaired and serviced properly.

KA4iup, thanks for the answer but that is not what I need. On page 40 of Pride jet 3 ultra manual, the picture shows a quick disconnect cable. I need to know how to pull that apart without damaging...

The quick disconnect normally has a tab that when pushed will allow the connectors to come apart. You will have to look. The connectors normally are white nylon, but they could be any color. It should be there if the manual is correct for your chair.

Best I can do without seeing a picture or the chair itself.

I changed the batteries in the jet 3 ultra. Chair will work but batteries will not charge

Wall outlet bad? Charger not turned on/plugged in right? Something disconnected? Bad battery connection? Blown fuse in chair or charger? Bad battery or batteries?

Speed sensor location

I\'m not sure if this will help but hopefully it\'s the same for you. I KNOW ON THE 2006 The VSS or variable speed sensor is located under the right side frame cover.

The manual says:

1 Disconnect the battery cable.

2 Remove seat and right side saddlebag.

3 Remove right side frame cover.

4 remove the two flange nuts securing the electrical bracket to the battery tray.

5 Carefully pull the electrical bracket from the studs on the battery tray. 6 Disconnect the three pin VSS connector on the backside of the electrical bracket.

7 Remove the terminals from the electrical connector pin housing. Remove the harness from ht electrical bracket.

8 Carefully cut the wiring harness cable strap on the inboard of the rear passenger foot-board screw. Release the harness from the frame down-tube.

9 Remove the Allen screw securing the VSS onto the top right side of the transmission housing, and withdraw the sensor from the transmission case.

10 Install by reversing the removal steps while noting the following:

a. Apply clean engine oil to a new O-ring on the VSS sensor prior to intsallation

b. Install the sensor and tighten the Allen screw to 84-132 in.-lb.

Hope this helps.

My jet3 ultra won't stay on

Chances are you batteries are beyond their usable life and need replacement -OR- you have a disconnect between either battery and the chair. Please check to make sure the circuit breaker isn't popped, all the fuses under the shrink-wrap on the positive terminals are good and that the battery connectors are seated properly. If the batteries each measure 12-14 volts at the battery post while the chair is plugged in and either drop below 10volts when unplugged then your batteries need replacing.

How can we replace battery?

This chair takes 2, U-1 batteries which are available locally and on-line at a steep discount. Make sure you get deep cycle gel batteries.
Remove the front battery box cover by pulling out the frame pin at the bottom front of the cover. The cover should lift up and off the frame.
Pull out the battery tray slowly and observe the connections on the four battery terminals. There is a connector (large, black 2 pin housing) to disconnect the batteries and pull the whole assembly out. If you cannot get to this connector, you can replace one battery at a time while the box is halfway out of the chair. This is a little more awkward and harder. Make sure you orient the battery terminals red to + and black to - . Install the batteries in the same orientation that you removed them.
If something gets disconnected you can open the rear electronics tray by sliding back the top rear cover or by removing by turning the 2 black pins (also called clip or stud) with a dime and a quarter turn counter clockwise (2 different designs). Reach in carefully and look for the large black 2 pin connector to the batteries.
You can save considerably by getting the batteries at a discount and doing the labor yourself.
Hope this helps.

Pride Jet 2 power chair with with 3 red and 3 yellow lights flashing. Batteries checked ok under load, all connections have been checked. I moved the chair and it would not move again. Just that quick.

Hi. The fault code you have is called the "Inhibit active".
It can be caused by a blown charger fuse, which causes the charger inhibit to activate.
Also if the 3-pin charger inhibit connector is not plugged in properly, or the connector is faulty, then the charger inhibit feature will activate.
Hope this helps. Neil.
