It says paper size does not match the paper source setting, Print on Letter No Yes Remind later

If printer is connected to a network, type the printer IP address into the address field of your Web browser. Click on Configuration and select on paper menu and make you have the correct settings. Make sure you selected the correct paper source and paper type.

Make sure on your application, the print settings matches with the printer. Check the print settings of the application that you are using. For example if you are using Microsoft Word, you need to click on print and click the properties button and go to the paper tab.

From the Paper Tab window you can modify the Input options like paper size and the source (paper tray). You may click on the drop down and select "Automatically select" for paper tray and select "Use printer settings on paper type and then click OK.

This is probably a software settings issue, please check in the application that you use for printing if the default paper size is the correct one (A4 on Letter)
Also check in Control panel, under printers Properties, that the correct paper size is selected.
Try printing again.

Check the paper size at the printer properties on control panel.
You may be trying to print an A4 document to a printer configured to print on Letter size paper.
The document paper size should match the printer's paper size deffinition.

You are most likely getting this message because of a paper size mis-match. For example, you are sending a print job as letter size but your printer is set to or has a4 size installed. When the printer sees that the print job is not a matched size to the paper in the tray, it will look to the manual feed tray for paper to print on, hopefully the correct size. Make sure your paper setting in printer properties on your computer match the paper in the printer and the print job "page setup" is also the same size/

Is the paper pushed all the way back into the MPF?
If yes, what type/size paper is your application sending?
If you try to print the internal Printer Settings report, does it print?
This error typically means that no paper is sensed in the MPF OR that the wrong type/size paper is in the tray. (MPF settings do not match job specs)

Cycle Power on the Printer

1. Turn the printer off.
   
2. Wait 10 seconds.
   
3. Turn the printer on.
   
4. Determine if the issue still occurs.

1. Press the MENU button.
2. Press the down arrow until Tray Settings appears and press the button.
3. Press the down arrow until Paper Size appears and press the button.
4. Press the down arrow until the specific paper tray (Tray 1, Tray 2, or MPF) appears and press the button.
5. Press the down arrow to select the specific paper size, as shown in Figure 1, and press the button.
6. Press the MENU button.

To verify the paper type matches the type set in the printer's operator panel, perform the following steps:

1. Press the MENU button.

3. Press the down arrow until Paper Type appears and press the button.
   
   
4. Press the down arrow until the specific paper tray (Tray 1, Tray 2, or Multipurpose Feeder) appears and press the button.
   
   
5. Press the down arrow to select the specific paper type, as shown in Table 1, and press the button.
   
   
6. Press the MENU button.

All media types that are not Plain 1 should be printed from the MPF only.


Verify the printing preferences on the Dell™ 3000cn / 3010cn / 3100cn / 5100cn-series printer.
To verify the printing preferences is set to print from the correct tray with the correct paper size, perform the following steps:

1. Click the Start button, go to Settings, and click Printers and Faxes.
   The Printers and Faxes window appears.
2. Right-click Dell Laser Printer 3000cn / 3010cn / 3100cn / 5100cn-series and click Printing Preferences.
   The Printing Preferences window appears.
3. Verify the Paper Size drop-down is set to the correct paper size loaded in the specific tray to be printed from..
4. Click the Paper Tray tab.
5. Click the Paper Source drop-down menu and select the specific tray to be printed from.
   This sets the size and tray defaults.

To verify the paper size from the printing application matches the designated printer tray, perform the following steps:

1. Open the application being used to print the document. (Example: Microsoft Word)
   
2. Click File and click Print.

Do not replace any printer hardware as this is not a printer hardware issue.

Another thing that can happen to cause a jam when you are printing on there is to make sure that the paper size if correct and matches the trays you are printing to. That condition will happen if the printer tries to print a legal size page and you only have letter paper installed in the trays.

Check your settings in the printer control panel to make sure that the trays match and are correct.

Make sure that the green paper setting knobs match the correct tray size as well.

Check the guides in the paper tray to make sure they match up to the proper position for your paper size. If for instance the paper tray is set to A1 by accident and you are using letter paper, then you request to print on letter sized paper the printer will think it doesn't have letter paper available and will ask for some. The position of the guides in the paper tray are what tells the printer what size paper is in that tray. Otherwise your paper settings in the paper meny are wrong as this can override the paper tray settings, check them to make sure they match the paper size in the trays also.
