Sounds like they hooked it up as voltage sensing and not tach sending. I'd get them to hook it up to a tach source, as your charging system might be too weak in the cold to give the system a voltage it is looking for.

Viper Remote start 7616V turns on and attempts to start 2015 Nissan Titan three times then returns to locked mode. Why won't it start then engine?

Hi,

Nissan might have designed a block to radiowave initiation of engine in order to stop hackers from being able to start and move your car wirelessly. Please call Nissan and ask them if this is the case or whether the remote is just not compatible with your car.

Thank you.

I have a viper remote start that came with the used i car i bought, the remote start worked great for the first few months of winter, now when i start it up, it runs for 2 seconds then dies, takes up to 6...

Your alarm may have lost the tach signal, that was learned to it, when it was originally installed. That would cause the remote start to try starting the vehicle over and over again, until it finally stays running, because it can't read the engine speed to know it's running.
If you can find the valet push button switch in your vehicle, try this; Start your car with the key and immediately after it starts, press and hold that valet push button switch until the alarm led on the dash stays lit up or the park lights flash. Then, release the valet switch, shut the car off and try remote starting it. That is the procedure to re-learn the tach signal. Hope it works for you.

I bought a 2007 Camry with a remote start. The seller doesn't know how to start the car with the remote. The remote is a 4 button Viper 474V.

First, be sure that the remote is programmed for the vehicle by using it to operate the door locks(pressing the lock and unlock buttons). The parking lights should flash if nothing else works. The usual way to operate the remote starter with this remote is by pressing the * button once but, the option could have changed if the remote has been reprogrammed differently. So, try pressing the * button once. If this doesn't work press it twice within two seconds. If this doesn't work try pressing the lock and unlock buttons at the same time. If these steps fail to initiate the remote starter try the steps listed for the * button with the aux button. If either of the remote starter inhibits (hood pin, neutral safety) are active you should receive flashing parking lights for a failed attempt to remote start.

Remote start attempts to start the car, shuts off, then on a again, does it 3 times, then stops.

Check to see if your security light is going off when it attempts to start the vehicle. If it is the security bypass may need to be replaced or re-learned.

Hi there i have viper starter on my honda civic i tried to start the car it tried to start it three times but the car does not start i do not know if it needs re prgraming or what

The remote start is suppose to try 3 times to start and after the third time if it hasnt started then it won't try again until you press the buttons. This sounds like you may be having a problem with the transponder interface that allows the car to stay running after it has been started. You can look on the dashboard and there is a red light that comes on when your igniton is first turned on then shuts off. If that light is flashing when you are trying to remote start it,then the transponder interface is the problem.

Viper remote starter

Sounds like the tach connection has been loosened or slipped out of position. Here is a link for installation manuals, Will help in location and inspection of tach wire.

Viper remote starter-

The start/stop 3x thing could be one of a few main issues. You need a bypass module or it needs to be reset. You need to program the tach if you're using it. Make sure with the new models(5101, 5301) it's programmed for auto transmission. The come default for manual transmissions.
