Check the time zone setting for your local time zone. If you are Eastern Time Zone but setting is for Pacific Time Zone, then the difference will be several hours. Check your manual for proper setting.

I have a Sharp Atomic clock , model SPC373 and the time is incorrect. Everything else is ok, how do I correct the time?

To correct the time on your Sharp Atomic clock, you will need to reset the time zone. To do this, press and hold the "Time Zone" button for 3 seconds until the time zone flashes. Then, press the "Hour" and "Minute" buttons to adjust the time zone to the correct time zone. Once the time zone is set, press the "Time Zone" button again to save the settings. The clock should now be displaying the correct time.

... I'm not familliar with your particular clock, but, I'm assuming you may have a;
BATTery operated, wall-hanging, 'self-syncronizing' clock with 'hands' on it.
These are often marketed as 'Atomic' Clocks that 'keep perfect time - all the time'.
Generally these work by 'accuratizing' the Minute-hand as it approaches the 'top-of-the-hour' position (e.g. the 60th. or the zero- minute marker at '12'. They often achieve this by either 'double-Clocking' or 'half-clocking' (doublespeed or halfspeeding) the electric pulse that makes the 'SECONDs' hand advance to it's next mark. These 'SynCHRONO-ize' to a low-frequency Amplitude-Modulated (AM) radio-wave signal, (perhaps near 430Khz?) emminating from a source near "The Atomic Clock" out in Colorado (I believe).

One that I used to have hanging had recommended something like the following:

-manually adjust the time (via the small grey wheel near the BATTery, but set it about 7 to 12 minutes 'early' or before the actual correct time, (preferably at about 10 min. before an Hour).
-then remove the one " double A" . . .
... battery (for about 30sec.) and reinstall battery.
-then hang it up, and watch for the second-hand to do its 'Double-clocking' (for part of it's revolutions ) as the Minute-hand apprpaches th '12'. {note; it may take ~2 or 3 hour-cycles for the minute-hand 'to catch-up on all it's "Lost" minutes}.
(then, hopefully, your model will stay 'synchonized' there, for that 'Hour's' setting, and accept It (DST Hour value) with accuratizing Minutes. (and not go crazey over the next few days trying to get back to "Real TIME"). /mm

How can I fix Springfield Precise Time atomic clock which has correct time on large (minute) hand but is behind several hours on hour hand?

I'm not sure if we have the same clock. Mine has needed batteries for a while, finally picked them up today. Once the batteries were in I had to reset the Zone by pressing and holding "CLK/CAL" button until the time blinks, then release and push the button until you see one single number on there... then set the zone. There is info in the user's guide (I can't find mine) so I kept changing until the time was correct. Now works perfectly.

My Seth Thomas radio controlled clock will not reset to the proper time. I've had it for many years, and this is the 1st problem. I changed the battery, I pushed the button for Pacific time ( I'm...

Hi lufberg,

I see you need help with your radio controlled clock.

Place your Seth Thomas atomic clock face-down on a table or desk and locate a series of buttons labeled "PST," "MST," "CST" and "EST" on the back of the clock. Press the appropriate button to set the time zone.

Turn your attention to the small lithium battery-powered digital clock display on the back of your clock. With the correct time zone set, the digital display should accurately reflect the current local time.

Locate the AA battery compartment on the back of your clock. Put two new AA batteries into your clock's battery compartment.

Set the "Mode" switch on the back of your Seth Thomas atomic clock to "Run." Wait for it to adjust to the correct time. The automatic time-adjustment process can take up to 45 minutes, but is usually completed much sooner.

Thank you for choosing Fixya,

Oregon Scientific Model 323a--Atomic clock...the atomic clock keeps setting itself to one hour behind what time it actually is in my time zone...I mannually re-set the clock to the correct time...but when...

Make sure that the clock is set for the correct time zone and that the DST (Daylight Saving Time) function is ON. Also, although not mentioned in the manuals, these clocks will typically jump and hour ahead or behind when the batteries get weak. Replace your batteries if they are more than a year old.

I can't get my atomic wall clock to set on daylite La cross wall

The easiest way to reset it would be to change it to Eastern time - that will give you the correct Central DST.
