I just put in a brand new memory card but the camera won't read it and says it is out of memory.

Hi
A quick look at the manual, which found here:
http://cdn-10.nikon-cdn.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/L610RM_EN.pdf

confirmed my suspicions that your memory card, being brand new, needs to be formatted by the camera.
If you download the manual, then the instructions are on page 16.
The manual is in pdf format so can be saved for future reference.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

Just purchased NIKON COOLPIX B500. I put in brand new Sandisk SD memory card And as soon as I shut the battery case the monitor says “this card cannot be used!” What’s up with that?

At the Time the Camera was made , Nikon lists a number of compatible memory cards. Each year both cameras and cards can read and write data faster. Cheap cards today can be read much faster than written. If any camera can take many photos in a short time, a slow cad will not allow the camera to operate as intended.

While taking pictures my camera all of a sudden froze and said card error, tried putting memory card on computer but it won't read it have tried using recovery programs but it freezes them please help

If your memory card is 4GB or larger, AND if your computer is two or more years old, your computer's card reader might not be able to read the newer 4GB SDHC card. In that case, just purchase an inexpensive USB card reader from WMart, or Amazon (here's an example). Try a different card reader first to see if you can directly copy and paste the pictures from the card onto your hard drive. If the new card reader doesn't see the files, then try recovery software. Here's some freeware to try. If the software still doesn't see the card with the new card reader, you may next need to try the corrupted card procedures described at the bottom of this linked article.

My camera has been great until the other day. It won't recognize that the memory card is in the camera and keeps saying the memory is full. I had downloaded the card's contents and after that it...

Yes you need a new SD card, it is rare but happens where the SD card malfunctions and it is not read by the camera, it happened to me and I put in a new card and it worked find.

Brand new memory card

I have the same problem with the same camera. I checked other sites and it seems that the C330 takes only SD cards up to a max of 1GB. It won't read SDHC cards and it won't read SD cards greater than 1GB.

Formatting memory card

Normally that means your card is locked.
Look at the side of the card, there is a tiny switch - this is the write protection switch.
You may be catching it accidently with a finger nail.

Camera saying memory full to a brand new memory card.

You may have a defective memory card. Have you tried it in a different device? Do you have a card reader on your printer or computer? If so, try inserting the card and see if your computer can read the card, and write files to the card.

Nikon 4600 coolpix

Hello, Many times when someone fools with a memory card and the camera is on, it sort of backfires when the camera is trying to read or write data to the memory card. Error 10 might be attached to a fault in the memory card or system error. Try doing this first: remove you memory card when the camera is off. Remove you batteries so it can reset. Leave the batteries out for 30 secondsthen replace them. Use a brand new SD memory card and then turn on camera. Go to menu and format the new memory card and see if this helps. Good luck.
