You should have a remote control to set its picture settings. To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls.Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability.
Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brandyou have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack.Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the site http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/Check this site too.http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops.
Type in the brand name of your device, in the search box [at the top right] of the display window and the Search will start at once as you type in, and will show you all the related posts. It will make surf easy.

Fix color?

You may have a picture reset button available to you in your menu choices under display or picture. If not you will see a menu with color, contrast and brightness or something along those lines. With your remote make all of the settings for these the same with them set in the middle of the virtual slider. That will even you out and you can adjust to taste from there.

Contrast really dark but seems to improve after the tv has been on several hours

Hi:
You may have a problem with the inverters in the unit, they are responsible for lighting up the back panel. Check or have checked the power supply voltage to the inverters, should be around 18-24 volts DC. Also leaky capacitors on the power supply will cause this issue as well as leaky or puffy capacitors on the inverter.

How do we adjust color without a remote ?

Hello
If your TV has a "Menu" button on its front panel, press it once to get into its menu option. Surf thorogh and come to the picture control window. There you can see the adjustments. Will be Brightness, Contrast, Colour, Sharpness, Tint etc. Select the option you want to adjust, advance or decrese its parameter by volume Up/Down buttons. If there is no 'Menu' button on its front panel, it will be impossible to adjust these parametes withoug a remote control. OK.

Picture settings

Colorimetre HCFR software
AVC HD 709 calibration disk
Spyder2 colorimeter (I know most prefer the Eye-One meters, but the Spyder2 was available from my job at no cost)

Here are the settings:

PS3 Blu-Ray player

Output Format (HDMI): Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr (important!!! NOT RGB output)
BD 1080p 24hz Output (HDMI): On (this TV can reproduce video at 48hz for accurate 2:2 pulldown)
Y Pb/Cb Pr/Cr Super White (HDMI): On (not sure if this matters)

Take time to get used to the settings, you may think the screen looks dull at first. The truth is most people have way too much contrast on their TVs.
These settings will also work for Cable or Dish hookups, in which case you may change the Noise Reduction option to Medium to reduce signal noise.

Green tint I can't seem to fix

Hopefully someone on here has a manual and can tell you exactly where the tint controls are. Also need to try adjusting the color level, turn it clear down so you have a black and white picture.
Is the picture still green over the screen with the color control
set clear down to black and white? If it does, you might
have an issue with the green gun going out or problem in the
circuitry to it.

By the way, the best way to adjust the picture settings on a
tv are to first turn the color control clear down, then adjust
brightness and contrast for best black and white picture, then
bring up the color level to where it should be and adjust the
tint for best red/green ratio.

Did you goto the MENU to access the different controls ?
Brightness, contrast, color, tint hue ??
There is always a way without the remote control [R/C] to get at these controls.
