Hi, i have a Lowrance Elite 5 and it won't turn on. Its about 20 months old, there is power to it and the fuse is fine, the night before it copped some rain and have since dryer it out but still nothing,, any help would be greatly appreciated

Check for corrosion on pins and make sure that you have enough power, not with volt meter but test light. It is probably not cost effective to repair older unit

Hey Justin you must find out why you are blowing fuses FIRST!!

You can try holding in the zoom in/out buttons (+/-) as you push and release the power button.
Hold the zoom keys until you hear a beep.
If your hard restart is successful. You should see the GPS screen with prompts for language etc.
if you cannot get the system to cooperate and all you see is the "Lowrance" screen, then you are experiencing a Castro pic system failure and the unit needs to go back to Lowrance.

I THINK what you're running into here is a poor power connection. (either positive or ground) It would appear to me that as the connection heats up, it is unable to carry the amperage needed to keep the unit running.

Carefully inspect, clean and lubricate with silicone spray the connections, (pay particular attention to the terminals at the power supply AND the fuse holder.)

Lowrance has started using the same power cord on their Elite units and their HDS units. The yellow wire on the power cable is an accessory wake up wire designed to be used in conjunction with the structure scan modules for the HDS.
You can simply tape this wire off during your installation ND ignore it.

There could be a bad power connection (corrosion).

Make sure that your battery is fully charged. Try a hard reset if it still won't start up.
This will erase all user information on the device, so you will have to set it up again.
With the unit off, press and hold the zoom in (+) zoom out (-) and power buttons. Release the buttons when the map displays.
